  4. It was on a battery maintainer periodically throughout the winter. It turns over nicely but checked battery just in case I was missing something and it seems to be ok. One thing for sure, I can’t hear any noise from the fuel pump when I turn the key.

On Sunday out whit 2 friends for some gravel road fun 5h ride, was sure fun through I do need some more off-road worthy rubber than the Metzler Tourance I now have, at least for the front, but big dilemma what to get as I know I will ride a lot of tarmac as well and don't want to sacrifice that performance to much ither

  8. This VFR 800 runs and rides great. The mileage is 30K. About five hundred miles ago I did an oil change with full-synthetic oil, installed a new chain with new front and rear sprockets, replaced front and rear brake pads, replaced the air filter. The bike has a steering stem phone mount and usb-c charging that activates when the ignition is on. The front and rear cameras record on a loop whenever the ignition is on. It has heated grips, and the controller for the heated grips is also a volt meter. It is equipped with a KOSO ambient air temperature gauge and Heal Tech GiPro gear indicator. It has a PIAA horn and a horn relay installed. Both low and high beam headlights are LED. The Two Brothers Racing cat- back exhaust has removable baffles. The rear sprocket is +1 for better acceleration. The speedometer is calibrated with an installed speedo healer and is very accurate. The bike has RMStator MOSFET regulator/rectifier and stator that I installed about four hundred miles ago. It has TechSpec tank grips and a tank protector installed. The eagles on the tank are removable decals. The original yellow Honda bird and logo are underneath them. It has a throttle lock for highway cruising. The passenger pegs and associated hardware are included. The bike needs a new front tire. Clean title; local cash sale only. No shipping or delivery. This ad being posted means it is still available. The price is $3500 non-negotiable. Test rides only with full cash amount in my hand. If you damage it, you bought it.
  9. The MAP sensor is located on the back edge of the airbox, and has a skinny vacuum tube plugged in from below. Very easy to miss plugging it back in...
  10. Oh i wasnt aware of the procedure. I was expecting it to just start blinking. But hey 2 fast blink equals 2: Loose or poor contacts of the MAP sensor vaccin tube. Faulty map sensor. Doesnt sound hard to fix once located but lots of things seems easy at first glance. Anyway, I'll investigate this this week between kids, full time job, some sports to not get too fat and maybe some sleep. Thanks again.

The Ultimate HOMEMADE Rust Remover (Better than EvapoRust) - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVYZmeReKKY 1 liter of water 100 grams Citric Acid 40 grams Sodium Carbonate 2 Tablespoons dishwash soap ≈ 30 mL (I use regular Dawn) I have excellent results in removing rust and cleaning parts. I cleaned my very dirty and rusty 5 Gen header in a 38 liter trash bin, 12 hours for 1/2 of the header and another 12 hours for the second 1/2. I do not know what it will do to paint. I would suggest using this solution only on the inside of the tank. Good luck.

  13. If you have a car and jumper cables I would suggest trying to start with these connected; that way you can eliminate the battery as a source.
  14. If the FI light is on there should be a fault code recorded that will help to pinpoint the fault. Read the manual for details (section 5-6), but you need to bridge the service check connector under the seat and then read the FI flash codes, and these will tell you where the fault lies. In my experience it is usually as simple as a forgotten electrical connector (e.g. IAT or MAP sesnors, or MAP vacuum hosse). I don't believe there is any need to bleed air from the injection system; it should purge from the fuel rails though the fuel pressure regulator and back to the tank.
  15. Was the battery on a charger/ maintener all along? It may not hold its charge as much as in the past even if so.
  16. Oh and while i thinking, by doing all that, theres probably a lot of air in the fuel system. Do i need to bleed/ purge it or just ride?
  17. Hi everyone. As per say, my bike wont start. Well, i can get it to start by giving it some throttle and holding it until it continues by itself but then the FI red light comes on. From then on it idle on itself but the RPM goes up and down as i stand there a bit puzzled. I did an injectors swap. I've put some 929 injectors in it that i've cleaned and trown fresh filters in them. I also swaped the fuel pressure regulator for an official Honda/ Acura one. Part nb listed off ebay as: 16740-P8E-A01 or 16740-P8A-A01 or 6740-P8A-M01. It was used in a bunch of V6 Honda from 97 to 01 (maybe more) and if i remember correctly it is 3.5 BAR (i wanted a source to quote its pressure but cant find it). Do i need to ride it a bit so my Rapid Bike Racing and My Tuning Bike will sort this out on itself or some of you may pin point an adjustment that im missing or an error that i may have made? Sorry for my not so perfect english, but i think i can get my point across. Max
  18. I mean, obviously they're cheaper. I just found this relic and want to make sure I protect the engine 😉 2000 yellow VFR that only had 2200 miles. It now has 4500 and fresh Mobil 1 in the crankcase. I was just wondering if the Purolator 14612 is 'safe'.

  20. Hi my bike was laid up for 6 months over winter inside my garage. I started it today with no problem but within a few minutes it cut out. It then restarted/cutout several times, but now won’t start at all. I drained the tank and replaced with fresh fuel. I’ve owned the bike for 6 years and always stored it over winter and never had any issues. Has anyone any ideas what this could be please? Should I hear the fuel pump prime when I switch on the ignition? Thanks in advance.
  21. Tyga also do a blanking kit, this can be used to remove the secondary system that dumps fuel into the exhaust for emissions in America. This system can be removed to reduce weight. It will not change the performance of the bike mechanically it will through a small weight saving
  22. I've used both, depending what I could find and also both the Bosch 3300 and 3323.
  23. I had seen it at CMS, it costs almost as much as I paid for the entire bike! Then with the couriers that are around it would not arrive at its destination intact! It was never my intention to change the tank, otherwise knowing I would have to do it I certainly would not have bought that bike.
  24. These pumps will function fine without the relay that sends power to them. Relays have been known to give trouble 🤔
  25. Hi Terry Thank you for the response and the correction, as an 05 it will be a 6th gen bike. The wires are def off the side light (UK Model), colours are brown and green. At the weekend I managed to trace the wire from the left side sidelight into the space behind the indicator where it connects to the loom near the indicator wiring. So checking the right side faring I managed to locate the corresponding connector for the other side light. Thankfully it didn’t require dismantling the front faring.
  26. Hi I am in the need for a replacement speedo drive sensor for my 94 model RC36. Will the 800 version fit? The cable looks shorter but I could extend that if required.

  28. Carbon fibre wheels: I have them for my ZZR. Just amazing I think a similar result would be had for the VFR unsprung weight and all that. Then go down 1 tooth: Very expensive! I would love to do it but need a lotto win😀

      I took a day off from work and also from my bicycle training to take out the Veefalo one last time before the weather turns ugly, supposed to snow the rest of the week and possibly start sticking to the ground along the Colorado Front Range. I took a leisurely pace up hwy 105 toward Morrison and got reacquainted with the bike since its been over a month since I took any sort of twisties on it at all, hwy 105 is a scenic ride along the front range between Denver and Colorado Springs, its mostly easy fast sweepers and lite traffic so its a favorite road of mine when going north. Then I have to negotiate a bit of traffic near Highlands ranch and up hwy 470 into the mountains. I decided to take the Morrison Exit and try either Lookout Mountain or head up Golden Gate Canyon - this time it was Lookout Mountain, I was sort of making it up on the fly as I went along. Lookout Mountain is my old bicycling haunt from my days while I was working at Coors, its a killer ride and all uphill - I don't think I could do it today If I had to, not quite there yet! I saw a whole bunch of riders doing it though and wished I was in shape enough to be there doing it as well. 30 more lbs and I will be able to do it! On this day I would do it on the Veefalo instead.

       

       

       

       

      I took a video from the gateway to the top at the Lookout Mountain State Park, getting past riders, the guy in the green jacket actually pretty much astounded me with how far he had gotten in the short time it took me to set up my camera, some 3 miles at least and up to the gateway from the turn off at hwy 6! Amazing I thought. I took the first two turns slow then got more comfortable as I went up further, till I was doing well, I made some gearing mistakes and took the tight 15mph marked hairpins in the wrong gear so I lugged it a bit on one or two. Still enjoyed it though and then got off at the top and hiked over a rock outcropping for an overview of the road for the pictures below.

      From there I headed up interstate 70 to Idaho Springs for a beer at the Tommy-knockers brewery, I was the only customer in the joint - slow day for them so they treated me like a king! I got a nice tour of the place sort of impromptu, they made me a nice Pastrami sandwich on rye and with the brown ale it was fantastic. I must say the beer is much better there than in the bottles - its always good at the brewery. I am glad I stopped

      I finished my lunch and since the road to Mount Evans is right there I headed up Squaw pass hoping to get in some nice pictures I wasn't expecting what I found, ICE IN ALL THE SHADY PARTS

      There were some section where the ice covered the whole road for 300 yards or so I had to roll through it with my legs out to help keep the bike from sliding and falling over, I took it real slow. A Ford pickup was right behind me so I pulled over to let him pass but the guy was going slower then even I was so I pressed on - in places where I could see I just cut over to the oncoming lane and out of the ice where the sun was shining on the road more, but some places there was not alternative so I just had to go slow, good thing it wasn't slick but rather they tossed some gravel over the worst parts so I had some traction!

      Not that it matters and not that I expect anyone had noticed, but to those who sent me "where are you?" I would like to say I am back. Not only that I am officially returning to VFRD after nearly 2 months break but I have also ridden my Hawk last weekend and had FUN! Let me restate that; I had major fun riding! Something I have almost given up on.

      Most of you have been riding your whole adult lives and riding is not only a hobby to you, it is part of you. But I started riding three years ago and even though I have encounter some setbacks, till this spring I loved riding with whole my heart. However, I have always considered riding as my hobby. As a hobby which suppose to make my life better, more fun and more rich. Life is too short to do something which we don't fully love.

      My love of riding received a first major scar this spring: I lost a friend on the racetrack. He was a total stranger who offered me his help after I lowsided at CMP track last year. I still remember hearing his "Hi, my name is Todd, do you need help?" while I was duct-taping my roadrash from ripped jacket. He helped me straighten up the shifter and we kept in touch. The next time we saw each other was the day he died.

      With 9 months delay, I can say that Todd's death shook me more than I have realized. It rooted fear in me which was fueled by seeing and hearing about others getting hurt over and over again. If I was to summarize this year - it would be one big accident report. I became sensitive to every broken bone, every roadrash, every lowside. And even though I did 10 track days this year, I became slower and slower and slower. Suddenly, I have acquired this 'grandma' riding style on the road, frozen with fear that behind every corner there is car standing in my lane, or major sand trap or deer staring at me ... I was crippled with fear not only for me about also for my fellow rider.

      So, at the end of this year, I rode more and more by myself. I could not bear the feelings of responsibility for others on the road and my lines were crippled by my own fears. It all culminated this fall at WDGAH. In a freaky accident Love2rideh82crash was taken down by a truck crossing into our lane. I was done. I finished the weekend, locked the VFR into a garage and took a break.

      Until the last weekend, I pretended that motorcycles do not exists. As a last instance after 2 months break from riding, I decided to go to CMP track to see if I can still have fun. I also felt like I should go for the memory of Todd. I went and I had fun! I had much more fun than I expected and the most fun on track I can remember. Suddenly the whole track connected into an uninterupted line of turns and I felt one with the bike riding around! I was giggling like a little girl in my helmet and keep on giggling ever since smile.gif

      Granted I was not the fastest one and through out the weekend, I have never exceeded about 60% of my riding abilities, but I had no "oh-shit" nor 'blond' moments. I could have maybe go faster, I could have brake later for the turns and I could have lean further, but I am no Rossi nor Stoner. I decided to ride for fun and I had amazing blast riding well within my comfort zone.

      I was proud of myself when, after bandaging Ricks arm, I was able to distance myself and go back to riding without the year-long fear. I did feel bad for him but the feelings were not crippling my lines nor my mind. And when a total stranger came to me and said "Hi, my name is Todd", my heart stopped for a minute though but I suddenly knew that my life went a full circle. I probably will never win MotoGP :idea3: , but I am back! :wheel:
