  1. Actually JZH, you hit the nail on the head. The paint design is close copy of a Two Brothers Team RC30 that Freddie Spencer rode in the in 1989.
  2. Beautiful job. Like the thin lines between the colors. Very nice detail. You mean 96....not 86. Right? Did you you paint or powdercoat the wheels?
  3. This is the plan. It should be done next month. I have an eight spoker for the rear.
  4. The large one is for the air supply to the slide chambers. That should have the sub filter attached to keep dirt out of the slides. The other two are air vent tubes that should be loft open to the outside air just the way they are.
  5. Is there a Duplicolor (or other brand) of spray can silver paint that matches the frame, pedals and hub of a 94-97?
  6. Very nicely done. You can never have too many RC36's!
  7. It's $150 US per pint for the paint and the base color from Color Rite. A pint of each will be enough to paint the whole bike. So it will be $300 US plus shipping. It's a 3 stage proces with the clear coat.
  8. Sorry Lint. I ride with the world's oldest living squid. He's 75 and the fist thing he does when he gets a new bike is cut the rear feder off and put decals on. Gotta love him.
  9. It looks nice in the pics. Chinese fairings.....why not!
  10. Didn't know squiids rode VFR's
  11. The carbs are dirty and the jets are clogged. Each carb has about 8 different orifaces and jets that clog. There are 16 pin holes in the slow jet alone and about the same amount in the main jet nozzle. Whether it's the pilot jet, slow jet or the many air/fuel holes, they all clog with time. If you restore the carbs like new ($250 parts and 12 hours labor) you'll won't have a problem again for another 20 years.
  12. I had a 98 and and 2000. Neither had throttle issues. In fact, I put a 98 OEM header on the 2000, got rid of the cat and put on O2 eliminators and I still ran perfectly. I don't think you have to worry if you find a low milage RC46.
  13. The voltage stuff is good advice but the floats are not adjustable...on the RC36 anyway. How is that done?
  14. Take look at a middle-weight adventure bike; the Verses 650 or, if you want more power, the FJ09. If you're only interested in VFR's, you can't go wrong with the RC79, but the RC36 is so classic and runs so good.
