  7. I asked Mr Google and got the following: 100/90-16 front tire and a 130/70-18 rear tire. That gels with my memory as well. If they make them in those sizes, the Bridgestone BT46 tyres are very good, I had a 16"/18" combo on my RC24 recently and they felt great.
  8. Thanks for responding TT. What brand is yours? You got me searching Amazon and there's a lot of options. I've lived with the aging Zumo on my bike for a while, but when I bought a modern car last year it hit home that the Garmin is nothing like CarPlay functionality. I already have the RAM mount and power so just need to choose the right unit. Thanks again to you and Frogger for posting.

  11. could it be anything apart from head gasket? i have some basic mechanical knowledge so head gasket was more of an educated guess really
  12. A cheap compression tester and endoscope are about £10 each from eBay, to me that’s money well spent
  13. not sure if it is the front or rear cylinders, all i know is coolant is getting into the oil and the expansion tank for the coolant is being pressurised by exhaust gas. so my guess would be head gasket is gone on one of the banks
  14. You’ll have to compression test it to see if it is the front cylinders, an endoscope down the plug hole would help with diagnosis, both are pretty cheap considering the work you are facing What makes you think it’s the front cylinders?
  15. maybe when the bike is running the level in the expansion tank for the coolant systlem rises quite a lot, which i think is exhaust gas getting in.

  19. Hey guys, what is the stock tyre size for 1986 vfr400r nc21.And what alternative sizes could one use that would fit. And also looking for paint codes for the red and black colours.
  20. i have a 2006 vfr800 vtec, i believe the head gasket is on its way out, coolant is getting into the oil. do you need to take the engine out of the bike to go the gaskets. my local honda garage has quoted a crazy amount of money to do the job. any hints and tips would be helpful.
  21. I haven't tried the carpuride system itself, but I do have a similar 5" androidauto/Carplay system on mine and absolutely love it. It boots up fast, seems to have reliable connection. The only drawback is like all wireless android auto is you need to start your ride with a full phone battery. This works and fits on the standard ram mount so super easy to install I tried another cheap one from Amazon and it was horrible. Took 1p minutes to load. If I had the money though I'd splurge on the Chigee brand, but it's about 700$ out of my budget.

  23. Wondering if anyone has used a Android auto tablet system. I've seen plenty of phone mount threads. I use ram balls, one on the stem and one on each the clutch and brake. I like the idea of my phone safe and dry in the tail bag. But I don't know where the screen could go on the bike and not stick out or be in the way. Thank yall for any help.

Bought for the RC51, but looking on where used also F4i/954 possible CBR600. Please check on Parzilla for where used/diagrams for application. Selling $50 shipped US 48...
  26. It's your fuel pump. I've had the same thing. Stranded 4 hrs from home. It'll kill your battery too. Brand new 29$ piece of shit... buy the k&l fuel pump. It's a direct Mitsubishi fuel pump. Worth 170$ !
  27. A possible sign of tight normal valves is a loss of vacuum (assuming no vacuum leaks at the throttle body or hoses). It can be measured through the starter valve sync procedure. I measured an increase in vacuum across all cylinders by doing the starter valve sync before and after the valve clearance adjustment. This does make sense as the reduction in clearance increases the duration of the intake/exhaust opening and thus the overlap. Service manual states that the vacuum should be 150-250 mmhg at the MAP sensor at idle. Assuming you're not at very high altitude, a reading close to 150 mmhg could indicate a loss of vacuum due to tight valve clearance on normal (non-VTEC) valves.
  28. I recently serviced the VTEC valves on my 90000km 2009 800. All were low, some very tight. I have noticed since installing the correct buckets that the VTEC transition is much smoother, there used to be almost a SNAP sound as they kicked in but I don't notice that now. May be all in my mind of course. I certainly feel better knowing that maintenance has been attended to.
