Did you have to return it? Seems like a machine shop could mod it pretty easily to work and still be ahead money wise.

Thanks for the information..

I ordered a Brembo rear rotor for my 2006 non ABS VFR800. Checked with multiple sources including Brembo itself and all said it was model 68B407M6. When it arrived 8 weeks later (they make them per order) it would not fit due to the the Brembo not having the 4 holes to accomodate the heads of the tire mounting bolts that protrude from the axle face. Fortunately they owned up to the mistake and refunded my money. This model is supposed to fit 1998 to 2012 VFRs. Big Fail. They could not determine which model, if any, would fit the VFR or what bikes the 68B407M6 does fit. Too bad. It was half the price of the Honda rotor I eventually purchased.

Sidestand it is. Yes there is a lot of confusing info out there.

What about a cheap hitch hauler that you could strap the bike to and then lift and mount to the Unistrut?

Seen several times on this forum... Set the engine solid on a base jack or otherwise. Disassemble/strip the bike enough to lift the frame off the bike, leaving the engine sitting on the jack/base. -- Yes, it is a big job... That's the way I would do it anyhoo...beats trying to move the engine....

Throwing this up there for the halibut, may or may not be useful. We use this stuff all over the manufacturing plants. I have thought about building a trailer with it. Strong as all get out. ....No welding required... https://parco-inc.com/tslot-aluminum-extrusions/ ---------- Curious, your option, what does a 275 year old Netherlands house look like? Photo?

There are many ways. I like to use a drift that is smaller than the slot. And I don't smash all the way down, but leave a small gap so I can easily get a small chisel in to release it later if I need to do some work.

Anybody have a tried & true method of staking a brand new axle nut? I'm sitting here just scuffing up the new one with my hammer and pry bar 😆

Wisely chosen, I should think. I wish them a nice trip in good weather.

If I tried to dig a basement in South Holland, I'd have a swimming pool! Yes, the reason for the cantilevered shelves is mainly to avoid interference with the workbenches and machine tools underneath. I could, of course, run at least some front verticals, but I've seen other workshops where they're using pallet racks for both storage and workbenches, and the extra vertical supports always seem to be "in the way". I'm trying to avoid that. I'm also trying to avoid supporting anything from the ceiling (which is also the bottom floor of our house). They built these houses very sturdily, but I don't want to chance doing anything which could compromise the structure of the house itself. I will try to post my progress here. I don't actually have the keys, yet, but that day is almost here! Then I've got to move fairly quickly to avoid having everything in the UK delivered to the same space in which I'm trying to build all this stuff... Ciao, JZH

If you can arrange a little help, it can be done with a normal car jack. I have done it by myself with one. Would have preferred not to, but I have.
-
i probably could or i could arrange a few pairs of hands to put the new one in.

Can you rent an engine lift in Shetland? That would make it so much easier
-
am i right on thinking the engine would come out under the bike or would it come out the side? might need to ask the youtube mechanics lol
-
It’s really just a matter of unplugging the electrical connections, exhaust off and then the engine mounting bolts, take lots of photos of where the connections are Either a trolley jack or a scissor jack under the motor
-
yea i would need to see how much they want to charge to sent it to shetland. but ill need to wait until the bank is a bit healthier, but there seems to be plenty of engines to choose from. would someone with basic skills and basic tools be able to do the job? never done an engine swap before haha

The one I sent you a link to earlier has the throttle bodies etc on

Oops. I do believe I know how to post YT videos or they wouldn't be on YT. However I may have screwed up copying the link to the playlist. Thanks for the helpful comment. -
I think that you might not know how to post videos. You're in your YT studio in these links. You need the link to the actual video.
