  4. Just did a fuel pump test on my 2000 while not running. One of the reasons for the test. A spike of 40 psi while pump was running and 36 psi when pump turned off, which it held. I did the fuel flow and got like 10 oz (with the engine off). The manual says 5 to 5.3 oz with engine running. Seems to me the pump is okay. Next the injectors. If you take the injectors out it is advised to change all orings and rubber parts, 3 in total, seal ring, o-ring and rubber ring for each injector. All the rubber parts can be found on the web. If the control solinods work I will try cleaning the injectors with a can and printed adaptor from the web. You can find new OEM injectors but they are $$$. I can find replacement (chinese) injectors for Honda cars with the same part number if needed. Im not sure I want to try chinese parts though I may as they are on Amazon and have the rubbers on them. It would be alot less $$$. No sence spending a ton of $$$ on a old ass bike in my opinion as I have 3.
  5. @St. Stephen Are you on https://www.ducati.ms/forums/multistrada.44/ I still cruise https://www.rc51forums.com/ Eventually, when I'm younger, I'll pick up another RC51. Aerostich has some interesting rider profiles. ADVRider. Also shout out to Neil Peart's moto books, and ADV member Nick Adams' books. And FortNine. They just released a movie on their attempt at a world record circumnavigating the globe, on Multistradas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHc2dWXA_9c

  7. Hello, I noted looking for the same, there are some clues on the forum (probably this one_ regarding a 600RR? part that can be made to fit. Unfortunately as you discovered the official part is quite rare - part numbers here: Honda VFR800F ABS 2017 KIT,QUICKSHIFTER supplied next day (UK only) by Fowlers Parts I've not done anything about it as yet. Best of luck! Jason.
  8. I've got a digital subscription to Bike magazine, the only decent one left, I was given a digital subscription for Classic Motorcycle Mechanics but it's crap, it's more like tool catalogue now Youtube has a couple of channels I watch Obsession Engineering SuperbikeSurgery TT channel
  9. I would gladly pay for 2 sets of successful reproductions. You seem like the chap to do it.
  10. I read nothing on paper anymore, just some sites and YT videos. My lot: The two VFR forums, obviously. N2td.org forum because I coach for them. Same for EvolveGT and others. YouTube peeps I subscribe to: Born a Goon Brent Pearson CanyonChasers Freedom Worx Itchy Boots Just Rolled In Life at Lean Megs Braap Mike on Bikes Shonky Productions I haven't longed for anything more. 🙂
  11. I used to, but so much of it is AI generated or just not true that the whole sport has lost a bit of the former shine for me.
  12. Are you able to start and run the bike at all? If you can, then you can check the temperature of the header pipe on the suspect cylinder and see if there is spark at all, or whether you are running on 3 cylinders.
  13. The test kit should show if exhaust gas is getting into the cooling system. If yes then a split gasket is indicated and would explain the 'steam cleaned' plug. Probably the wet header as well. Good luck
  14. not at all. No smoke white, blue or black even after long time without running, nope perfectly clean i need to put some miles to check that, now its impossible during winter. Good idea ill try to borrow from my friend. I doubt it, old spark plugs had almost perfect color (except this clean one). I am considering purchasing this head gasket test kit. People say it works well
  15. The clean plug could be caused by a slight coolant leak into the cylinder. Failed head gasket or a cracked head. Any white smoke in exhaust? Does the oil look milky at all? Is your coolant reservoir level reducing? If you have access to a horoscope can you look at the piston surface and does it look steam cleaned as well? Can you do a compression test as well to compare between the 2 forward cylinders. If it's oil on the header you should smell it/ be able to see it burning off. But if you had a very worn piston ring you'd have an oiled plug. Others might have ideas of how to diagnose.
  16. Can you help me with this problem? One of four spark plug is way to clean. This is how rest of spark plugs looks like There is clearly a difference Also exhaust port on this cylinder with clean spark plug is wet Motorcycle is now not in use due to winter. Yesterday i cleaned exhaust with breake cleaner just to see if it get wet again. Ye its slowly getting wet again I cant tell if its oil or coolant. Pipe is only looking wet its too little to examinate but i doubt its coolant because i have fluorescent one. Fuel? What should i check? What would you do?
  17. Thanks Captain, you have saved my bacon yet again, I recon I can make a pair of those, perhaps even get some good spring steel wire from a local spring maker
  18. Tons of great bike talk and content on ADV rider, lot's of old and new and camping and gear and food and trips and... https://www.advrider.com/f/
  19. Hi St. Stephen, Thank you for your donation of 40.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  20. Yesterday
  21. I see all the photos. that must have taken a while to upload all of those. 🙂 I would much rather deal with simple maintenance issues like you have than deal with knackered plastics and rusty tanks.
  22. Now all pictures should work.
  23. Yes, nice bike
  24. can you see this one?
  25. Video no longer available.
  26. Still no photos
  27. Hey Morados Thanks for the comment. From the info available, I'm led to believe F/Pro detent arm return spring is heavier than stock, imho this is a bad move if it affects neutral selection in anyway, stock VFR shift star defo gives an easy to find neutral, this is why I'm checking out other Honda model shift star profiles that will require little to no mods to achieve a more positive shift than a stock star yet still retain easy neutral selection. I may be wasting my time on this, but since I've a planned strip down of sorts pending, I thought I'd give it a shot in the dark so to speak, then this shaft support project came about, so I'm committed to seeing it thru regardless of the outcome, nothing ventured etc. I'm still in the R&D phase with this, but I may have potentially found a solution that's better than a F/Pro for a fraction of the price. Updates coming soon. 👍
  28. Very interesting and count me in when you do open a group purchase for this project, I do already have the FactoryPro Shift star and Detent Arm with micro ceramic hybrid bearings and it shifts better but the big downside is the Neutral shift got very hard to find so maybe this support might help a little bit in finding the Neutral
