  2. Welcome! Good looking 4th gen!
  3. Someone posted a thread to check these. This is on my ‘09 VFR 32,000 miles. How does this happen??
  4. Hiya danks, welcome to the group. You 4th looks terrific for a 30 year old with significant mileage. You'll find owners & service manuals, amongst other docs, in the downloads section.
  5. Just picked this up.... One owner, 85,000 miles!! It's been across 35 states in one long trip.... Very well maintained. Glad to be here 😁

  7. So I was cleaning the garage today and I decided to see how my 84' VF1000F tank would look on my 86' VFR700F, to my surprise it looks really good! still waiting for my new tank to come from Germany.
  8. 6th Gen in the UK has 4 x H7 single filament bulbs as standard. 2 for low beam then the other 2 illuminated to make 4 on high beam. One of the best headlamp setups I've ridden with.
  9. Thanks for the tip. Just for info: I have been using Osram H4 Night Breaker 12V 27/23W with much pleasure on my 5th gen (street legal for a list of cars).
  10. OK, todays question, My 2003 vtec illuminates 4 headlamp bulbs on main/high beam. Is this correct? or has a P.O. modified this? (2 Bulbs on dip, 4 bulbs on high is what is happening). I am concerned about the charge rate dropping to just over 13V. at battery in this condition. 14.4V on dip alone.
  11. While waiting for the Transalp parts did a few things on the Zephyr. Mounted the chain In picture just checking where to cut the chain, that's why a tie zip, but yes, chain line looks good 👍 As time to mount the front sprocket cover, I got a bit creative as the paint had some chips I'm happy how it looks, I need to check from the manual, as I have one, which way the gear selector should be mounted as I don't want a track bike shift pattern 😅

    Anything goes!

  13. Hi Everyone For a while I have been thinking about getting a VFR1200 DCT and the one thing holding me back is that Honda no longer supply the foot shift kit for the VFR. Honda do however supply a kit for the Africa Twin and I think it is possible to make a bracket to fit the AT shifter to the VFR but I am wondering if the shift switch/electrical connectors are the same. What do you think - will the electrical plug/shift switch be the same between the AT and VFR.

  15. ^^^^^ I like that switch holder! Could be used for lots of different things..
  16. Making a itsy-bitsy bracket to hold the RapidBike switches (map + pitlane), which is a combination of standard aluminum corner trim in combination with a 3D printed part: I 'stole' the idea from someone who mounted a piece of corner trim aluminum to place his gear indicator (found here). So, ongoing.
  17. I ordered everything. I will drop an update when everything is finished I will make an update and a new post with pictures of my vfr fully complete

I put a set of KM1 on my 03 FZ1. About 5k miles and they are solid performers. Commuting and some NC mountain roads hustle. Amazon currently has 120/70 - 180/55 set at like $208.
  19. Here you see an extension used to make it fit.
  20. This is how the fuel looks removed. I can see that i have damaged this plastic while trying to remove it. I will replace rhe seal but do i have to replace the black rubber around the metal sponge thing?

I put some Conti Motions on my Hawk GT (with Gen 4/3 VFR wheels) as an experiment. 160/60 and 120/70. They've been great. Feel a lot like the Michelin Pilot Power I have on a few of my other bikes (at least on the Hawk they do).
  22. Or use a battery charger and reverse electrolysis

    Kenda KM1

Try Amazon? I just grabbed another 180/55 from there. Navigated right from the Kenda storefront.
  24. Citric acid, baking/washing soda, and dish soap. Look it up.

    Kenda KM1

Thanks for the update. Was looking at trying these, but VFR sizes are out of stock pretty much everywhere. Got a set of Conti Motions. I'll post up a review once I've put some mileage on 'em.
  26. It looks like the 6th gen rack/bags are the same as the Givi PLX166 racks for the 6th gen, so you've got options for any of the Givi V35 style cases, or equivalent Kappa cases like I bought.
