Good to hear about the T-Rex sliders. Just installed a pair on my 2002 VFR800 today. Had to relearn the hard way when I first got it to never trust the side stand. Seems that both bolts holding it on were almost completely backed out. Got some scratches on the upper cowl and clutch lever. Never again. Tracked down a NIB upper cowl in the right color (don't ask what that cost!), but the scratches are minor enough that I never replaced it. Will get around to a touch up someday.
