  2. YAY! Oh I miss my old 4th gen (NACA DUCTS 4 LYFE!)

  3. Yes, you have to drill out the the holes. it isn't much, mostly just the existing threads, but you aren't going to reverse it without a tap&die and custom bolts of some kind. I have no intention of going back to factory, I only use the front portion of the Sargent seat so that the cowl creates a nice little storage space for rain layers / spare visor / etc.

  4. they are the Sargent quick release pins. not exactly a great deal price wise, but they look and work just fine.

  5. Rode off-road from Hwy 108 ( Near Pinecrest) to Highway 4 (Arnold) on Hell's Half Acre Road, it was 63 miles, but took around 3 hours with a few wrong turns on the spaghetti fire road system. Then we decided to ride over Ebbets Pass (8,736') on highway 4. Then we took a right on highway 89 and over Monitor Pass (8,314'). After gassing up in Walker, we took 395 south and then headed back over Sonora Pass (9,623') back to our campsite. Over 200 miles of twists and turns.

  7. I love this photo, slo1. The red VFR stands out and the curves leading to the mountains make you want to jump on and GO!

  10. Yes, they are powder coated a very HRC brownish gold.

  11. NICE! I love the gold wheels almost more than I love the white wheels that I sometimes see people put on these! Did you powder coat them?

  12. Thanks for getting a red Multistrada featured on VFRD! Beautiful shop.

  13. Pig? All VFRs are equal, but some VFRs are more equal than others!! Red NACA's are the best!!!

  14. What a nice example of a 4th Gen. I never get tired of looking at the lines on these bikes.

  18. Zero drag I actually have some wheels and brakes changes in the works for this bike. Not huge performance gains, but some bling for sure. Should finish the look of this bike nicely.

  19. That is Sailing Yacht A in the background - owned by a russian oligarch and seized by the Italian authorities in March of 2022.

  20. I love your photo, nice alignment of the VFR, road, and setting sun. At least I hope it's a setting sun 'cause I hate gettin' up early.

  21. Sorry I missed your comment at the time, MaxSwell. But to answer your Q, the pic was taken about 6pm back in late July 1995. As I recall traffic in the Glacier NP was light that day, and I waited for the cars to clear before snapping.

  24. This was Rt. 175, looking southeast, near Clear Lake CA. The mountain is Mt. Konocti, a volcano by the lake. 175 was a great road but cold, and lots of gravel that day. No TC on the 2010 7th gen!

  25. Oh my, what a lovely scene - the bike ain't half bad either. With luck, and an end to the pandemic restrictions I hope to return to Cali next summer

  26. I have never liked the look of the 1200. I think it’s lack of sales success could be partly attributed to its look. That RWB completely solves the issue for me. It’s a beauty.

  27. The 600 may have been quicker, but it sure didn't have an ass like that!

  30. I get that this was taken in California, but I saw this photo and immediately recognized the Oregon coast vibe (rocky, overcast, and cold looking). Also, I knew it was the Pacific Northwest rather than Maine because the ocean was on the left.

  31. Absolutely superb, oh to get my hands on one of those! Beautiful shot of a truly beautiful machine.

  34. That's the Hite Crossing Bridge in the background on UT-95 (for those interested, Google Maps link below). This view is on the North side of the Colorado looking East. https://www.google.com/maps/@37.8894221,-110.409233,3a,75y,60.66h,86.98t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1sqBeEVc3O7lLuR8YPjesxHQ!2e0!7i3328!8i1664!9m2!1b1!2i45?hl=en When I came through there a cop was making a traffic stop at the turnout at the base of the outcrop on the right. Sort of ruined the moment for me. We are so blessed in North America to have these epic landscapes in CO, UT, AZ, MT, WY ID, Eastern OR and CA to ride through. Not only great roads, but spectacular other worldly landscapes that even the movies couldn't make up. Even though it's tempting to "pour on the coal" through these places, I try to take it easy at times to soak in the scenery - it's just too good to pass up. Time for another road trip! Come on vaccine . . . !

  37. Is that a sea turtle image on the upper cowl? If so, Long Live The Sea Turtles. And the text below it are words to live by. I cannot make out the image behind the turn indicator. More philosophical profundity?

  42. I recognize that spot, it's one of my favourite parts of PCH. Starting southbound from Garberville or northbound form Fort Bragg makes for a great morning's ride.
