Btw, I played with press images of the 6th and 8th(?) gen bikes. Overlaying them in Photoshop indicates that the new VFR's seat is flatter front to back, and a little lower, it's handlebars are a little higher, and the windscreen is a little taller and more vertical. I don't trust these observations but a tape measure at any of the upcoming UK/EU bike shows will say for sure.

Can someone photochop CBR front end onto the VFR with Panigale exhaust?

THAT would be a package worthy of my coin.

Something like this? I only grabbed the shock. The CBR has less rake.

Thank you!!!

I would buy ^^^This^^^

Where do I sign?

Is this an air duct to refrigerate the R/R? And if it is, this would mean the R/R is back where it was on the 5th gen...

Good point could be but why 420W stator ?

To reiterate, this is a major disappointment. This is a 2002 motorcycle on life-support. Honda, you cannot keep recycling this 2002 motorcycle and call it "new" every time. I am on to you.

This bike reminds me of harley davidson motorcycles they produce out of date machines and people eat them up like candy.I hate to say this but honda has just moved into this area for me.A out of date bike that people think is the best thing since sliced bread.and the cbr 1000 sp in today's liter bike class is over priced and lacking in the electronics package.

When I was a photo major in college back in day we called this thinking the yellow box mind set"the yellow box referring to Kodak" they where falling behind but people bought the little box because of the past glory not there present day standing.Honda needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

VFR enthusiasts are a tough crowd to please, I like the new 800 there are aspects I would have preferred like instead of re-jigging for conventional forks why not fit inverted forks they already have with the only mod needed extending them to suit the extra length. Traction control & ABS I can live without on a V4 due to the smooth power delivery but in this world with everything designed to try to save ourselves you have to accept that.

If I destroyed my current 6th gen I would probably buy this bike, call me vein but I just love the dash & that alone would be the reason to buy it over another 6th gen.

Looking good! :fing02:

Good point could be but why 420W stator ?

The LED lights consume a lot less energy than the previous halogen bulbs. Lower amperage => less heat (stator) & less thermal stress on the RR.

To me it looks more like the Tirumph Sprint ST 1050cc than a Ducati...

I thought it looked like the 1050 at first, but after putting them next to each other, they weren't THAT similar. Closer than the 6th gen and the ducati though.

TECHNICALLY, not consuming the output of the stator is what causes heat. Probably explains why they will likely drop the stator output.

I say it's an 8th gen, and I want one.

Can't wait to start modding one!!

Maybe it's a good thing I haven't been able to install a bunch of performance goodies that will swap right over to this bike.

I can't get past the humpback whale gas tank. I have a fairly large magnetic tank bag that probably will not play well with the whale.

But heated grips .....

The only difference with is those now have become standard where they were optional before: 08T50-MCW-800

The wattage, went to LED lighting but added heated grips .

I don't think this is a gap-filler.... and of course they will be doing updates as they keep it in production.... but for God's sake man.

They just came out with 3 new CB500's in three very attractive cuts... the Grom, which looks great, the CBR1000RR and 600RR which look supurb and now we're stuck with a sport-tourer that looks like was a first-attempt?

NO. Unacceptable, Honda. Go back and try again.

I agree with:

- Suspension... modern! Yay!

- Wheels... borrowed from the VFR1200 obviously.

- Triple trees... much nicer than the older style.

- Split seat... Please tell me you can take the pilion seat OFF and use the cowel as a trunk?!?

- Dashboard... sexy.

- Swingarm... VERY sexy...

- Tank and rear plastics... love the taillight to... much more edgy.

I disagree with:

- Side plastics... really? a little Ferrari/3rd gen inspired scoop? Grow up.

- Side plastics 2... where are the body lines?

- Directionals... What do you mean in the mirrors?!?

- Headlight... why is there only one?

- Headlight 2... dafuk? LED's are popular... X-shapes are popular... how did you f*ck that up?

- Exhaust placement... warpath worthy... under-tail or shorty GP, that's IT... cannon blocking SSSA and new wheel... real attractive. :goofy:

- Same old 800... up the displacement to 900 and really fill the gap between the old one and the Orca (V1200)

- More black plastic to turn gray/white... That chain guard, half the side plastics and the under-tank skirts are going to look great in 3 years.

- Non-linked brakes... how dare you.. (OK, just kidding... but still, it's a nice safety feature).

- VTEC... no, seriously... it's still a Vtec?

I'm sure this is going to turn out like the Triumph Speed/Street Triples.... when they swapped their bug-eyes for those little sharp, plastic headlights... everyone hated it for the first few months... then it grew on everyone and the old one looks like an antique now.
