  3. Yes, you have to drill out the the holes. it isn't much, mostly just the existing threads, but you aren't going to reverse it without a tap&die and custom bolts of some kind. I have no intention of going back to factory, I only use the front portion of the Sargent seat so that the cowl creates a nice little storage space for rain layers / spare visor / etc.

  4. they are the Sargent quick release pins. not exactly a great deal price wise, but they look and work just fine.

  5. Rode off-road from Hwy 108 ( Near Pinecrest) to Highway 4 (Arnold) on Hell's Half Acre Road, it was 63 miles, but took around 3 hours with a few wrong turns on the spaghetti fire road system. Then we decided to ride over Ebbets Pass (8,736') on highway 4. Then we took a right on highway 89 and over Monitor Pass (8,314'). After gassing up in Walker, we took 395 south and then headed back over Sonora Pass (9,623') back to our campsite. Over 200 miles of twists and turns.

  6. Does it contain an addendum on the O-ring of the solid rocket booster?

  7. I love this photo, slo1. The red VFR stands out and the curves leading to the mountains make you want to jump on and GO!

  11. NICE! I love the gold wheels almost more than I love the white wheels that I sometimes see people put on these! Did you powder coat them?

  13. Not if you navigate like me, ha ha. Your photo actually reminded me of UT12 just south of Torrey.

  14. What a lovely scene. It reminds me of places I've ridden in Oregon and NorCal, but I suspect it might be someplace a thousand miles away.

  16. I spent the time with 5 friends, we had a really good time. I needed a relaxing vacation, I rode 5 demo rides most were so so the Aprillia Tuono, that ride was insane..factory sponsored demo ride was absolutely insane. We were really flogging those bikes. Possibly replacing the veefalo. I'm debating on the mt-10 sp, or the ktm 1200gt. Both have semi active suspension. I like the Yamaha reliability and easy parts. But I really like the ktm. The Tuono is not comfortable to ride for me..fun though. I need more relaxed ergos now.

  17. I love your photo, nice alignment of the VFR, road, and setting sun. At least I hope it's a setting sun 'cause I hate gettin' up early.

  18. Sorry I missed your comment at the time, MaxSwell. But to answer your Q, the pic was taken about 6pm back in late July 1995. As I recall traffic in the Glacier NP was light that day, and I waited for the cars to clear before snapping.

  19. Sorry, can’t figure out how to like the image, but it’s lovely and really caught my eye when I pitched up today.

  23. I have never liked the look of the 1200. I think it’s lack of sales success could be partly attributed to its look. That RWB completely solves the issue for me. It’s a beauty.

  26. Really evocative shot, Convoy. One small change that'd make it even better, imho, is if your bike was just a little further away from the structures to its right side.

  27. Yes, I put an old go-pro 3 I have in the case. I have had a bit of road rage with a couple of clowns on the road tailgating. I just point to the camera when I stop at the lights and they leave me alone. Saves the aggravation. Recently brought a Forcite Helmet that has a camera fitted. Waiting for it to arrive..... A dash cam in the helmet can only be a good thing.😃

  30. Last time I was on this road it was ~4:00 in the morning. There were about a bazillion stars in the sky but I was too cold to stop and enjoy 'em. I'd spent a chilly night on the side of the road a few miles east after finding there was nary a room to be had in Blanding. Fortunately, dawn had come as I neared Hanksville - time for coffee.

  35. Is that a sea turtle image on the upper cowl? If so, Long Live The Sea Turtles. And the text below it are words to live by. I cannot make out the image behind the turn indicator. More philosophical profundity?

  36. Aha, I guessed correctly that it was Independence Pass. One of many fantastic places Colorado has to offer. I'll have to get back there some day.
