There is one on display a mere 3km from my home. Measured it up front to back so 2 members here  on VFRD could make their replicas a near perfect as possible.

Here is Essential Superbike on the ultimate V4 the Nr750 or New Racer...

I'd place the NR750 on a pedestal all by it's lonesome... it still
looks down at all the other manufactures with you'll never top this
level of engineering... it scared to FIM rulingbody enough to ban

anything but round cylinders...

Thanks for uploading that article. Fascinating technology. How much of that bike's DNA exists in our VFRs?

You're welcome...

The exotic oval-piston NR750 DNA was first used on the 94 RC45 in the form of the PGM-FI for Programmable Fuel
Injection which employed 46mm throttle bodies and total of seven sensors to deal with mixture control... The RC45

also inherited the NR750 massive 140mm 8 plate slipper clutch and the single sided swingarm... The RC45 engine

architecture exist in 98 VFR with its gear driven cams and fuel injection...

Honda part number identifier for the NR750 MT7 and the RC45 MW4... so check and see if any VFR part sports these IDs

I'm holding an NR750 piston at Jim Granger's RC30 shop... I'm sitting on Jason's NR750 at Bubba Gumps during the 2005 MotoGp at Laguna Seca...

Bubba Gumps not only serves good food but they also allow bikes on their property... this NR750 stole the show... it's the first time Honda's ultimate V4 has ever
been seen during Laguna Seca... I got to know the owner Jason...

Not many NR parts crossed over to any other Honda model, apart from the CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, which got the mirrors.

What? That NR rear wheel is still not on your FP? 😄

Nah, it's still there.  Not turned a single rotation in anger since it was fitted, sadly, but it's there!

Finding a spare RC30 swing arm is part of the fun, however...

Wow- beautiful! What is that linkage on the swing arm? The rear brake?

The linkage is an anti-squat torque arm (that's an RC30 swingarm). Supposed to reduce squat under power, which should make for more neutral corner exit, The RC45 didn't get it, and very few other bikes did, suggesting that suspension engineers found other ways to dial squat out of suspension systems.

I thought it was the rear brake torque arm.  It transmits the braking force to the frame, instead of the swingarm, reducing the effect on the suspension.  The 1000R used a caliper bracket with a bushing for the axle and the stay went to the frame for the same reason.

I dunno.  Could be wrong, but I never heard it being an acceleration anti-squat device.  Don't see how it could work that way.

Well who knew you could get an NR750 in black? Now I need TWO for my collection. Sigh...

I used to do a lot of parts sleuthing re the NR and I never saw anything other than red parts in the Honda parts catalogues (I have both the Japanese one and the ROW one in my study).  French dealers at that time sometimes re-sprayed bikes in custom colours (i.e., lots of "Rothmans" RC30s somehow got discovered in France), so I'm sure that's what happened with that particular bike.  Also, of course, Visordown doesn't employ the most rigorous of fact-checkers...

[Yes, it is an RC30 "brake torque arm", but it is only on my bike for the bling.]
