Great choice Rob! One of those rare motorcycles where form really does follow function.

Ya know since you've put a RC51 front end on your VFR I think its required that you put a VFR swing arm on your RC51.

Congrats from a fellow VTR rider!   Stick to this forum, the RC51 one cannot stand it its shadow by a mile or 50...

Thanks Curry!

Hey are you coming on all or part of the ride that Derek is organizing to Troutdale in July?

Rob - I wish I could.   Some family health issues (not mine) have me off the bike - it's parked for the summer.  :(   I'll check on the dates - if the they work, I might be able to sneak out to Troutdale for evening festivities.  It would be great to see everyone.  Curry

The rescue project is ramping up, as time allows.

instead of mowing my lawn, I tore the RC apart.

Wheels off, to be powdercoated gold, and forks off for new seals.

The gold wheels pic is just for reference, that's the shade I'm shooting for.

Nicely done Rob!!!  That last pic of the 2 of you, looks like it's got just as big a sh#t eating grin, like a newly adopted puppy.

We all know the work you do will be meticulous.

Love that sound.  Looking forward to watching the progression.

Clutch cover mod would be tough. Stock cover is magnesium, so can't be modded by seb.

Id have to buy an aftermarket racing cover in aluminum, and have seb mod that.

Would be a $500 touch by the time I'm done. Ouch!

Rob, keep the mag clutch cover. Consider the scuffing as patina - think what the does to the value of a Louis IV chair

Wheel bearings have been cleaned and repacked with fresh grease.

RC51 heads over on FB were all like: Just buy new bearings man!

And I was like: Naw, I'm good, thanks.

$7 worth of grease and a little time and they're mint!

With only 4,000 miles, they'd better be!

New tires Friday!!!
