AB-Oz
We all know its an 8th Gen, as per this sub-forum title But what shall we call this bike? For example, here are the "accepted" names for the last few generations: 94-97 - Testarossa 98-01 - Klingon 02-13 - Origami (Vtec) 10- - Veefalo (vfr1200) 14 - ????? Best names can be put to a vote unless some braniac comes up with something outstanding

Auspanglish
Re-done-dant Redundant No actually I like it best (out of all the VTECs).
Member Contributer SAFE-T Posted May 15, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted May 15, 2014 I have never heard of the 94-97 referred to as the Testarossa. The VTEC has been described as having 'origami' styling, but again I've never heard someone call it that. The 86-89 and 90-93 don't seem to have any particular pet names. Really, it's only been the '98-'01 VFR800Fi (Klingon) and VFR1200 (Veefalo) that had particularly distinguishing features that led to their 'names'. Even then, I always thought Veefalo was more of a knock on the bike than a vote in favor. Mostly the product of people who spend too much time on the internet, methinks. If I ever get one, it will be called Marvin. Or Melvin.
Auspanglish
I got it: Predator Those air scoops at the front. (Can't pin a photo at the mo) I have never heard of the 94-97 referred to as the Testarossa. The VTEC has been described as having 'origami' styling, but again I've never heard someone call it that. V4 Rosso
+1 for predator I have never heard of the 94-97 referred to as the Testarossa. It has simialar vents like the testarossa or the 348 as in this pic of Dutchy's bike next to one: I thought the 4th gen was known as the NACA VFR (again Dutchy's bike )
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted May 15, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted May 15, 2014 NACA's Are The Best!!! 4th Gen = NACA
VFR4Lee
Somehow, owning my VFR since '99, I've never heard the nickname Klingon. :unsure2:
AB-Oz
Klingon: as in bird of prey, smooth flowing curves Origami: due to its folded up appearance.
marriedman
Never heard the Klingon thing before. Which is weird because I am a huge Star Trek geek and love my VFR. That would have stuck in my mind I believe.
Member Contributer Cogswell Posted May 16, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted May 16, 2014 Déjà vu . . . Let me mod that a little.... Déjà vu all over again... In that case the maybe the nickname could be "Yogi" (Berra) . . .
