Congrats on that beautiful VFR!!  I always liked the yellow 5th gen.

I bought a new bike recently and will be selling my old 6th gen, but I already told my wife I can see buying another one someday.  🙂

It's amazing the hidden gems that are out there.   That is a real time capsule.  Great find - enjoy!

Congratulations that's a fantastic find.  Glad to see them still out on the road and being ridden!

Is one of the headlight bulbs colored and throwing in reflections, or is that just from the yellow plastic?  Asking because I noticed the blue-ish bulbs in my VTEC low beams make the reflectors blue when unlit, while the high beams are not.

Ha. I think that's the reflection of my hi-viz yellow shirt. Usally wrench on it a few hours every day after work.

Don't park it in the sun.  You've got the (better looking, but not updated) instrument panel, which can melt when the sun focuses on it.  Seat cowl?

This is the first I've heard of this.  Has this really happened to some VFR's out there?

OP, welcome back to VFR ownership!

Yes, it can happen, and it's why Honda changed the panel at some point during the 2000 model year.  My yellow Y2k is like the one above, and my blue 2001 has the new panel:

Welcome back.  A buddy of mine has found and purchased 3 beauties in the last 1.5 years.  All in the NE usa.

3,500, 5,500 and 10,000 miles.  I own one of those now and it's my second 5th gen.  I've also owned a 4th gen and an 85 vf1000r (and v4 Magnas, Sabres and a pile of other bikes).  Have really enjoyed them all but like you all know, there is just something about the whole package of the 5th gen that's extremely hard to duplicate.

They are still out there!

Its a real subtle "smear" at least on mine, there could be worse ones.  On mine, you really have to look hard to see it... maybe since I changed to a DB windshield the effect isnt all that bad. You cant really see it unless the light is just right.  -- There's nothing on the other side.

Yellow....................the insects love the yellow bike. They are all over mine when I  go out and I don't mean just squashed on the front .

It attracts all the bugs.
