I was about to say the same. Zion?
  2. So 13 years after this recall was made, can one still bring in an affected bike to have the recall work done? I have yet to check if mine falls in the range but I do have a 2002 non ABS model. EDIT: Entered my VIN and there is no active recall for my bike.
  3. expvet, thanks for your reply. It was not the from the radiator overflow tank. Thanks! It was the over flow for the tank. What confused me most was that it was laying along the side of the airbox similar to how it is in my photo. I saw a few diagrams in the owner's manual but it did not show me how it was connected. I found this online and it helped me track down where it connects. http://members.home.nl/jfknippels/tank_removal.html 9th pic down. Reconnected and all is well. Cheers!
  4. Thanks for the info. I downloaded the manual and will take a look. I thought that as well that it came off the tank, but I can't find any place on the underside where it could have come off. I appreciate your reply! Cheers!
  5. So I finally got around to check and see if the flapper/snorkel/PAIR mod was done on my recently acquired 6th gen (it was). I also took out the air filter and cleaned it up. However, I found this tube just laying there and I don't know where it goes. It is a vent tube however I cannot find where it went originally. Any pointers? I'm still waiting for the owner's manual so if there is one online, that would b great as well. Thanks!
  6. Indeed I did. Actually I purchased them 4 days apart! LOL! While I am a firm believer that suspension is one of the most important things to be addressed, I still want to get the best bang for the buck. I am sure that spending $1300 with Jamie on his new BD product will get me one of the better setups as far as suspension, I also need to realize that $1300 is more than 1/3rd the total cost of the motorcycle. With Ohlins even more. I know I can't go wrong with either. I guess it all boils down to what I really want to invest in both bikes. I will always deal with getting suspension setup correctly before doing any engine or cosmetic mods.
  7. Aside from the suspension bits from Jamie Daugherty, what else is out there? Obiously if money were no object I could go Ohlins but I hear Racetech springs are an option as well? While I'm already leaning in Jamie's direction I also want to do my due diligence and make sure I'm making a good investment.
  8. I had long conversation with Jamie today. Good guy for sure. I was debating the F4i front end conversion but decided I wanted to keep things mostly stock. I will most likely do the new BD series on my 01 and the revalve/spring and rework the rear on the 02. He gave me a ballpark figure of $1300 for the BD solution for my 01 and $650 for the 02.
  9. Sorry to revive and old thread but I want to do the same for my 01 for the twistys and my 02 for 2 up riding. Do you mind sharing how much this set you back? I know there are many options like having Jamie rework a rear from a different model (929 seems to be the go to, but Blackbird as well?). Cheers!
