Honda launches new V4 website.

V4 Rosso

Thats a pretty cool read. I really don't know much about honda's v4's besides the newer vfr engines, so I'm looking forward to more updates to that site to learn more!

Nice catch - that really will be interesting. For anyone that wants more info before the site gets updated, I uploaded an article from 1993 that appeared in Motorcyclist that provided some development history of the early Honda V-4's through Gen 3.

Doesn't Honda do this almost every year? I remember seeing the history of the V4 on their site a year or two ago. I really wish they'd make a real V4 sportbike. I'm getting tired of waiting for them to come around...

Well not every year. But they did when they introduced the 2010 VFR1200: http://www.honda-v4.eu/en/en/Home

Yup, that's what I was remembering, thanks for setting me right!

I'm with Dutchy on this one.

It's been a while since the last VFR rumor mill has stopped churning.

It was fun IMHO.

I especially like the part where the change from 750-800cc never happened, it just suddenly went from a sportsbike to a chain driven, VTec all rounder and the 5th gen was never even born. Come to think of it I'm not sure if I saw a 4th gen either..

At least not until the final page which lists all of them together

Yeah, pretty lackluster between 95 and 01.

Meanwhile the RC211V is included

Well.... the 1200 engine does have a bolt on that enables the shaft drive.

Remove that and you can fit a sprocket......

Guys, this is getting exciting:

Honda CEO Confirms V4 Sport Bike Project is Underway

Not gonna hold my breath on this being affordable. Not that it matters, but Honda needs to make an affordable bike for the masses, something exotic, just look at the RSV4, it is affordable, but exotic as well, and when I;'m saying affordable, I'm talking $20k or less. The recent offering from Honda have been very anti-climactic, the CBR 1000RR is not a bike I would buy, as it just doesn't stir my soul, not that I have one of those either.
