  1. Hi arrow, Thank you for your donation of 5.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  2. Sorry to hear about your health problems, I hope you get better soon. Nice to hear from you in any case. There’ a dyno shop in Goes Netherlands -Tovami, owned by Ruud Fredrik- which tuned my SC bike with Rapidbike back in 2010. That SC kit is in Seb’s bike now. It’s apparently 15 hours away from your hometown by riding (including a ferry). It’s not practical for you of course but hey it would be and adventure 😄… Here’s the video of my dyno run by the way: I don’t think anyone here will say that your project is unnecessary, I think it’s wonderful that you are chasing your dream. Looking forward to hearing from you, good luck!
  3. Recent issue of Motorrad speculates that the first version might be a naked model…
  4. It looks and sounds great. I susbscribed to your channel by the way…
  5. I came across this very interesting item from the ‘80s while looking through the December 1986 issue of Motorcyclist: I never heard of it before so I decided to search the internet, where I came across this website: https://honda-v4.com/sabmag/july/mdouglas/superch.html This article is also from Motorcyclist, but from October 1984 issue. Apparently it was for a V65 Magna. I wonder how many units were sold and whether there are any running around… By the way, bump bump…
  6. I might have missed this bike. Is it a new purchase? It looks really pretty…
  7. New parts for your Gilera or doing maintenance work Leon? Well since I haven’t hijacked your post recently I thought this would be a perfect time to do it and continue the MBD part of this saga by sharing three recent additions to my garage… First of a little 50cc air cooled two-stroke scooter from my long gone youth; a ‘91 Honda Vision SA50 Met-in. I used to ride this little beauty during summers back in the ‘90s. It’s quite peppy -for what it is- and really nice handling scooter. I found one in pretty good shape & low mileage close to me and closed the deal last summer. It needs an engine refresh (crank seals, new piston and rings etc) so the engine is dismantled now, waiting for parts. The other is a scooter given to me by my uncle. It’s a ‘93 Piaggio NRG50, a 50cc liquid cooled two-stroke sports scooter; it does 80 kph (almost 50 mph) quite easily. It’s undergoing a refresh right now since it sat unused since ‘94. My latest addition is a green-black 2000 Kawasaki ZX-6R. I owned a red-black version, bought new in 2000. Loved it to bits, it was fast, light and comfortable. It was also the first bike that I did my track day on, and the first one I dragged my knees on. This one, although the cleanest example in my country, is quite rough. It’s undergoing a nuts&bolts restoration and engine rebuild currently. It’ll be lightly modified (better suspension, plus some functional accessory additions) and repainted in my original bike’s color scheme. It’s not a logical purchase or restoration project at all, just a purely nostalgic thing for me. The pictures is from 2002, right after I returned from a short tour. Now that I have 11 bikes, I’m contemplating whether I should get a 6th gen VFR again 😆. I saw my old bike in traffic in Istanbul a couple of months ago which is a huge coincidence considering I was in a place I normally wouldn’t go. I think this is a sign that I should aim for 12 bike garage, a nice number 😃…
  8. This seems like good news. It looks like a very interesting concept: https://www.motorcycle.com/bikes/new-model-preview/honda-unveils-new-v3-engine-with-electrical-compressor-44611192
  9. Any updates? I hope everything’s fine with you…
  10. Honda seems to have finally pulled the trigger and made the sporty sports-tourer that most in this forum had been asking for. Relatively light, 1000 cc, 150+ HP (expected) … but an inline-4, based on the new CB1000 Hornet.
  11. Weird, my Hyperpro shock also blew its seal when my VFR had the SC. I removed it from the bike and had it rebuilt by Hyperpro in Netherlands after which I sold it to a friend of Roy’s in Australia…
  12. It was heartbreaking to learn of Roy’s passing, he was such a nice gentleman. I’m sure he’d be thrilled to see this. I saw the video shortly after it was uploaded, your VFR sounds mean! I liked and commented right away of course (I am arrow0872 in Youtube)!
  13. I hope it’s OK to continue the MBD confessions and I hope Leon won’t get mad at me too much for hijacking his thread 🙂… Here is number 9 bike in my garage, a ‘23 Honda CB750 Hornet. Why did I buy it? Because after retiring, I decided to take all my bikes to my parents house in a coastal vacation town by the Eagean Sea called Cesme since I live there most of the time. I bought a 21 m2 container to store them (picture attached). I also have a motorcycle trailer but I didn’t fancy taking a particular bike back and forth to Istanbul too much when I go back there. The ingenious solution? Buy another bike to keep in Istanbul of course 🤪. I checked the Turkish version of Craig’s List for a cheap second hand bike and I must admit, I looked at the 6th gen VFRs but the deal on the Hornet was too good to pass. It was actually the same price as a very clean red ‘05 VFR that I was checking (just like my old one). I also always fancied a naked/standard lightweight middle class bike as I love the combination of right amount of power and ease of use in a lightweight package. Within 5 minutes of taking the delivery of the bike I knew that it was the right choice. So much so that decided to take it to a 7 day tour of Dolomites in Italy over my KTM SA-S. It was the easiest bike to ride in the tight mountain roads and huge fun. The whole trip was around 4000 kms and the bike performed quite good even on the highways (though the KTM would’ve been much more comfortable)… Since I was going to spend the summer in Cesme after the tour, I decided to bring the Hornet here as well. No point in keeping it alone in Istanbul right? I wonder if I should look for a clean red 6th gen (red of course) for Istanbul. Number 10 is a nice round number after all 😝…
  14. We did converse through your build and I could see that you were undertaking a very complex project but when I finally read this thread… Wow, I mean, wow, my mind is blown! I had to go back and read the posts several times to even start to comprehend what you did to the stock kit. Excellent work, great craftmanship, beautiful bike…. At least I can claim to have contributed to your success. I did buy the kit in the first place 🤪…
  15. I didn’t know Roy passed away, he was such a pleasant gentleman. May he rest in peace 😔…
  16. Sorry to hear that the VF is going to go. Are you trying to reduce the size of your garage?
  17. I think it looks like a neat bike and sounds pretty good. It also gives me VFR1200F vibes, the rear-ends of both bikes look somewhat similar in my opinion… What do you guys think?
  18. The chain was very rusty so I thought it was abandoned. I hope that’s not the case…
  19. I saw this poor VFR750 parked in Amsterdam during recent visit. It looked like it had been there for a long while, perhaps abandoned. It has a BOS slip-on but looked otherwise stock. I hope someone saves it soon…
  20. That’s awesome Leon, I’m so happy for you. I loved the Redslut and I was sad to see it torn to pieces. I’ve a soft spot for 4th gen VFRs and this one looks great. I guess I’ll have to go back a few more pages than I did in this topic to see the story. Here’s my new V4 which I bought as a retirement present to myself; a 2021 Ducati Panigale V4S:
  21. Hi Leon, I’ve not been here for months and I tried to check the earlier posts but I couldn’t see anything from you regarding a new VFR750. Is this your new VFR750? I’ve also have a new V4 by the way but I’ll wait for your response before I share the picture…
  22. I could not see anyone posting this before. It’s an instagram post from Iconic Motorbikes, showing Steve Rapp’s newly acquired VF1000R next to his 8th generation VFR which is wrapped in VF1000R livery. I think it looks fantastic and wanted to share here. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb4GLiXOInW/?utm_medium=copy_link
  23. Beautiful places Leon, where's this? Edit: Nevermind, I read the previous posts, gorgeous scenery. I bet it was a lot of fun!
  24. I also have an AbbaStand, I really like mine. I purchased the front lift arms and the motoglide options so that I can move my ZX-7R around the garage with its both wheels off the ground.
  25. Hi Leon, I hope to visit Netherlands again. The KTM is a riot, no SC is needed indeed 😀
