  1. Honda seems to have finally pulled the trigger and made the sporty sports-tourer that most in this forum had been asking for. Relatively light, 1000 cc, 150+ HP (expected) … but an inline-4, based on the new CB1000 Hornet.
  2. Weird, my Hyperpro shock also blew its seal when my VFR had the SC. I removed it from the bike and had it rebuilt by Hyperpro in Netherlands after which I sold it to a friend of Roy’s in Australia…
  3. It was heartbreaking to learn of Roy’s passing, he was such a nice gentleman. I’m sure he’d be thrilled to see this. I saw the video shortly after it was uploaded, your VFR sounds mean! I liked and commented right away of course (I am arrow0872 in Youtube)!
  4. I hope it’s OK to continue the MBD confessions and I hope Leon won’t get mad at me too much for hijacking his thread 🙂… Here is number 9 bike in my garage, a ‘23 Honda CB750 Hornet. Why did I buy it? Because after retiring, I decided to take all my bikes to my parents house in a coastal vacation town by the Eagean Sea called Cesme since I live there most of the time. I bought a 21 m2 container to store them (picture attached). I also have a motorcycle trailer but I didn’t fancy taking a particular bike back and forth to Istanbul too much when I go back there. The ingenious solution? Buy another bike to keep in Istanbul of course 🤪. I checked the Turkish version of Craig’s List for a cheap second hand bike and I must admit, I looked at the 6th gen VFRs but the deal on the Hornet was too good to pass. It was actually the same price as a very clean red ‘05 VFR that I was checking (just like my old one). I also always fancied a naked/standard lightweight middle class bike as I love the combination of right amount of power and ease of use in a lightweight package. Within 5 minutes of taking the delivery of the bike I knew that it was the right choice. So much so that decided to take it to a 7 day tour of Dolomites in Italy over my KTM SA-S. It was the easiest bike to ride in the tight mountain roads and huge fun. The whole trip was around 4000 kms and the bike performed quite good even on the highways (though the KTM would’ve been much more comfortable)… Since I was going to spend the summer in Cesme after the tour, I decided to bring the Hornet here as well. No point in keeping it alone in Istanbul right? I wonder if I should look for a clean red 6th gen (red of course) for Istanbul. Number 10 is a nice round number after all 😝…
  5. I read about Miguel’s decision to close the site about 3 weeks ago and I couldn’t come back here to even write a thank you post. It seems like all the things I loved from the 90s (print motorcycle magazines) and early 2000s are being phased out and I really dislike that feeling. I sold my VFR1200 back in 2017 when I purchased my KTM SA-S but I still came back to read posts every now and then. I could see the activity was significantly less than before, and I always chalked that up to the “emergence” of social media. However it’s also a result of Honda giving up on the V4 concept as well as Miguel stated in his post. I now understand that the site will be around longer (whew!) and other people have volunteered to help which makes me very happy. I hope this site lives on since I think it’s a lovely place with great people who love sharing their knowledge and experiences. Paypal is banned in Turkey (long and stupid story) but I’d be willing to try Patreon (I think that works) to donate to this site to help in any way I can. Thank you so much Miguel for this incredibly long run and thank you all VFRD members!
  6. We did converse through your build and I could see that you were undertaking a very complex project but when I finally read this thread… Wow, I mean, wow, my mind is blown! I had to go back and read the posts several times to even start to comprehend what you did to the stock kit. Excellent work, great craftmanship, beautiful bike…. At least I can claim to have contributed to your success. I did buy the kit in the first place 🤪…
  7. I didn’t know Roy passed away, he was such a pleasant gentleman. May he rest in peace 😔…
  8. Sorry to hear that the VF is going to go. Are you trying to reduce the size of your garage?
  9. That’s awesome Leon, I’m so happy for you. I loved the Redslut and I was sad to see it torn to pieces. I’ve a soft spot for 4th gen VFRs and this one looks great. I guess I’ll have to go back a few more pages than I did in this topic to see the story. Here’s my new V4 which I bought as a retirement present to myself; a 2021 Ducati Panigale V4S:
  10. Hi Leon, I’ve not been here for months and I tried to check the earlier posts but I couldn’t see anything from you regarding a new VFR750. Is this your new VFR750? I’ve also have a new V4 by the way but I’ll wait for your response before I share the picture…
  11. Beautiful places Leon, where's this? Edit: Nevermind, I read the previous posts, gorgeous scenery. I bet it was a lot of fun!
  12. I also have an AbbaStand, I really like mine. I purchased the front lift arms and the motoglide options so that I can move my ZX-7R around the garage with its both wheels off the ground.

    6th-gen Supercharger Kit

I sent the email, but I just remembered something. My bike had the Rapidbike module, not the Powercommander. So the file I sent you might not be the standart file sent by Dan (creator of Torocharger) but the Rapidbike format. Please make sure you check everything before attempting to install this on your bike.

    6th-gen Supercharger Kit

A&A-VFR-SC.1.mppHi Igor, I have this file for the A&A SC kit. I remember actually getting a map in Turkey as well, but I can't be sure if this is that map. The one done in Turkey, was probably a little bit richer due to different gas. I'd imagine it could at least work temporarily, until you get it to a dyno shop which I'd recommend. I sold my SC kit to very kind gentleman in Australia, he was also a member here. I don't think he installed it though. Good luck with your build. Arrow A&A-VFR-SC.1.mpp
  15. Is there a place for a small intercooler in there somewhere? Would it help if you could install one?
  16. IIRC, you have a Torocharger on your bike. Is it still on the bike? I'd love to hear your experiences...
  17. I was sent an SMS by Honda Turkey about a month ago about the driveshaft issue. I immediately called my dealer who told me that the parts weren't yet in the country and that I should check with him later. I called him again two days ago and he told me to bring the bike over; as he's very close to my house I took the bike there right away. Two hours later I got a call from him saying that my shaftdrive was going to be replaced and that the parts would take a day to arrive. I'm now waiting for him to call me as the part was supposed to arrive today and the replacement shall be done right away. I'll keep you guys posted... Edit: I rode my bike around in the traffic and went on a ride yesterday. There's much less clatter from the rear end when ridden in high gear, low rpm situations.

Probably will need a new exhaust, even though it kinda looks OK considering...

I'm waiting to discover the horrors performed in the name of maintenance here, seems like they used liquid gasket for the cylinder head. I wonder what they did to the engine...
