Welcome from the west coast of Canada!

Excellent first post, lots of pics and the bike looks great.

I just gave a small boost to the Aussie economy earlier today by ordering a pair of Oggy Knobbs for my 6th gen. Nice to be sending a little patronage your way instead of to China (nothing against the Chinese, they just seem to be monopolizing manufacturing these days).

I kind of like the idea that my sliders will say: "Oggy Knobbs Australia" on the ends too.

Nice looking ride and it appears you're getting use out of it. Good move.

As AB mentioned, a few of the OzVFR mob are intending for a ride this Sunday 21 July. High level details are meet at Appin pub, Appin in time to leave at 9:00am, ride to Cliffhanger Restaurant at Bulli Tops in time to meet up with other riders and be ready to depart at 9:30am. Heading south to Albion Park, Jamberoo through to Gerroa, Berry, Kangaroo valley and finally lunch at Bowral.

Ride not on if the weather gods frown on us (we're too old now to get wet - we may melt or at least shrink)

You may consider joining us on our sojourn.

Where in Sydney are you?

Liverpool, not far from you.

I'll take a look at OzVFR too.

I doubt I will be doing any riding this week end recovering from 2 broken hands I rode out to Campbeltown today to see my accountant the 20mins there and back was a bit much for my thumb.

I Got hit buy a truck at Warrickfarm about 7 weeks ago.. Don't worry I wasn't on the VFR :-)

I'm keen to start doing some touring but don't want to push my recover to hard.

I like to take off for a few days at a time and live out of my panniers, but some day trips sound like fun

Great touring setup! I like your powerplug install. Might just have to copy it on mine.

Looked like your VFR1200 sat in the warehouse for some time. I'm sure the dealer was glad to see it "adopted".

Clint,

Good luck with the hand; looks nasty. There are a few OzVFR members who live out this way. We don't ride all that often, but when we other VFR riders are welcome.

Welcome to VFRD, great intro post. Those pics were Australia or the California coast?! I can't tell the difference, love the coastal roads here, I've got to try the same scenery down there one day.

Hi Phil,

I got the socket and plugs from this ebay seller in australia

http://stores.ebay.com.au/madfishermarinenautoelectrical

this is the 12v cig socket

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BLUE-SEA-1011-12V-MARINE-4X4-4WD-ACCESSORY-POWER-SOCKET-CIGARETTE-LIGHTER-STYLE-/271009912672?pt=AU_Boat_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f19731760

the plate is easily removed if you don't want to use it.

this is the 12v to USB

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BLUE-SEA-1017-DUAL-USB-2-0-5V-2-1A-OUTPUT-CHARGER-PLUG-ADAPTER-12V-DC-Marine-4x4-/281017584672?pt=AU_Boat_Parts_Accessories&hash=item416df40c20

if you have no need for the 12v cig socket they sell one that is just a twin usb port

the bracket i cut from a piece of aluminium with a dremal tool

i have had this socket on my bike for about 8 months and it has been fine with rain and while washing the bike.

Forgot that Norm had closed registrations due to spammers.

Try it again, and in the field titled 'Referrer' put v4racer (that's me) and he should then process the registration.
