  2. Here's an Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/CAMECHO-Motorcycle-Waterproof-Touchscreen-Bluetooth/dp/B0DT11SPL5/ How is the power connected to the unit? USB? Spent a frustrating weekend with my ancient Zumo also and looking for an upgrade.
  3. Sebspeed had a thread on here about adapting an 8G cover which has better/more oil flow. It was a bit of work as I recall. Edit: As I said, a bunch of work, beyond my capabilities! https://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/topic/108681-the-ultimate-vfr800/#findComment-1148761
  4. Also check out: https://www.thurn-motorsport.de/ Looks like they have a dozen different options for the 1200.
  5. Yeah, can hear it now.
  6. No experience with those but they sure do look familiar!
  7. I can't hear it either.
  8. I just put the Hella H4 back in my bike, $7ea. They replaced the "Lifetime LED" brand led's that died, lifetime warranty also died with the company. It's hard to know what a good LED is so I punted for now, but thanks for the info and links.
  9. I've got it, the PC2 software and all the US/UK maps. Can put on a Google drive for download if you like, pm me. Still running the PC2 myself. Edit: With @ShinyPants101 upload it looks like we have everything in the site's downloads section now. Note the California spec '98-'99 bike uses the M103-00x maps. M101-00x US M101-50x Europe
  10. Yes, 2003 or later stator will bolt in to the 5th gen, with the same '03 or later flywheel. Flywheels are relatively cheap on eBay.
  11. They were in the $700-$800 range when first available but doubled in price by the time they stopped selling them. A few have sold over on vfrworld recently in the $400-$500 range.
  12. What are you considering for a next bike? Want to trade for a refreshed '98 VFR?
  13. At that price it's going to sell in days, if not hours.
  14. Agreed, it seems the same to me. Not sure how the running lights are connected. The burnt fuse holder would indicate a lot of resistance and heat build up? If it was a simple over-amperage I imagine the fuse would typically have popped before the holder had time to experience that amount of heat damage. Would be interesting to see a circuit diagram of this with some values inserted.

  16. And on the other side that connector looks like this, previous pic was my bike ~20 yrs ago. You can use cheap blade connectors and end up with the same problem, as I did. And try to solder stator wires still with bad connectors and a bad r/r: I finally got it fixed by eliminating connectors altogether and a new r/r. Sounds like you got it sorted out with a new r/r, 14.7 looks good. Just add the 30a fuse as mello suggested. Follow this flow chart to double check the stator and r/r output: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1091/5694/files/fault-finding-diagram.pdf?235929069374954073

  18. Looks like a mechanical speedo drive? For some other bike.
  19. Should be 11.3mm 8.3mm is more of a Euro bike standard
  20. Probably binding throttle cables with the taller helibars, it may happen if they didn't install longer cables or mis-routed them. Not a big deal to resolve.
  21. What year? '98-'01 530/108 stock '02-'13 530/110 stock '14 & newer 525/110 stock
  22. I keep my '99 on a battery tender. Most of it's life it had a small current drain when sitting, after a few weeks the battery would go dead. It would be worth your time to remove the tail fairing and check the connectors if you haven't. I have had this happen a few times and removing the connectors completely and soldering the wires together was the only real solution.
  23. The bulbs are dual filament, are you sure the second brake light filament wasn't broken on the original bulbs? New bulb should be a 7443 dual I believe.
  24. If you have a multimeter you can use this chart to evaluate the R/R and stator condition. And check the charging system connectors for evidence of overheating. fault-finding-diagram.pdf Can also download the chart here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1091/5694/files/fault-finding-diagram.pdf?235929069374954073
  25. I added the trunk box to my MS and later the wife bday surprised me with the side bags. Barely used them, they still look new, the trunk box gets used every ride. Perfect weather to take a trip, enjoy.
