WRESTLER IS MIA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

OK Wrestler spent Wed night in my home town of Sudbury ON (google it if you must know where). Thrusday, he was to ride to Ottawa to meet up with Tumbles and I ( aka The Eh Team ), his last text said he would be in Ottawa around 4 pm.

At 7 pm, still no word. I sent a couple of text and called a few times... nada.

Starting to wonder a little about if he was ok or broke down again... so we went out to eat supper. Ya I know how caring of us.

8 pm Still no word and no Wrestler !!!

So we decided to go for a ride and do a few of our fav. ramps. While cutting through downtown Ottawa we rounded a corner and saw a Red 5th gen VFR with Georgia plates moving slow and looking very lost. Realizing this was the mia Wrestler the Eh Team jumped into action, surounded him and pulled him from his lost and confused state. ( ok maybe not confused but it sounds good. )

After a couple WOW! I can't believe you guys found me :fing02: Wreslter tolds us what happened.

After Gasing up his trusty VFR and really looking forward to meeting up with us for a ride and some supper in Ottawa he forgot to put his tank bag back on the tank, leaving it on the tail where at some point it decided to get off. Where we don't know.

Not a big deal or the end of the world unless your camera, passport, bank cards, credit cards, ID, GPS and cell phone are in it :fing02:

What a sucker punch so far away from home.

So after about an hour or so dealing with the credit card people we had to feed him. All in all Wrestler was doing not too bad because before diner was done he had a tall woman wanting to take him home and look after him. I'll try to find that picture later.

Who knew Wrestler was such a ladies man!

Today I took him to the US embassy, ( Wrestler said the man with the rubber gloves was very nice ) which believe it or not took less time and was easier to deal with then the credit card people. He is STILL on the phone with them now! Damn they are dumb and usless.

I keep telling him that it might be a pain now but later on this will be one of the best and most told parts of his trip. :cheerleader:

I am glad to hear that he is OK! He has certainly had more than his share of difficulties on this trip, eh? Think of it this way, though... it will all be grist for the story mill, next year at T-Mac. :cheerleader:

A dear friend always says "If it's not a good time, at least it's a good story."

But he's got both out of this situation.

Ottawa is great! Everyone should leave the south to visit it. Springtime and Winter are particularly beautiful (Spring for riding and tulips, winter for skating).

It's almost as good as Toronto. ;)

Quick, someone give Wrestler a stiff drink!!! I'm sure he needs one to boosts his morale!! goofy.gif This being said, I'm happy that this is a thread about a good news, and not a sad one--although I do understand that loosing all that stuff is not fun by any means. You can always count on VFRD members to help each others; cheap insurance policy in one way!! laughing6-hehe.gif

So, why is it so hard to cancel a credit card?!?!??! Don't they do this on a regular basis, especially during traveling season?!??!??! How bout changing company??

Man!!! I was worried for a moment too!

Is there any chance finding his tank bag?

I hope all things will short out in his favor and he will have a lot of stories to tell at next year tMac!

I lost my tank bag once too, but I was lucky because I saw it flying off of my rear trunk holder.

Well if it will make you feel better, I did the same thing too!

Bought my old Bandit 1200S off ebay from a guy in Florida. Hitched a ride from Texas in my gear along with a large tankbag on a greyhound bus. I left my tank bag sitting on top of the stations' fuel pump at my initial gas stop leaving Florida. Too many things on my mind dealing with the purchase, a new bike, and a big-ass thunderstorm heading my way. I didn't realize my mistake for about 5 miles. Whipped around and hauled butt back towards the storms and the station. Bag was gone, attendants didn't see anything, etc. blah, blah, blah. I lost a pre-pay cell phone, digital camera (big bucks back then), some good tools, and rain gear. Luckily I kept my wallet on me (and now my cell phone) and some toiletries in my hydration backpack.

I feel your pain wrestler.

Good to hear he is alive and well, getting lost in Ottawa that I can beleive :laughing6-hehe:

Wouldn't hurt to stop by a local police station and let them know about the bag going missing and how to contact some one in Ottawa if its turned in. 99% of people that would find something like that would turn in the ID and passports, but I bet any cash would be gone.

As promised here is a pic of the nice woman trying to take Wrestler home

Just in case Wrestler tries to come up with a different story, I have the proof.

So we got all that we could fixed for him yesterday and escorted him to the border.

Before we sent him rolling in NY state Tumbles and I bought him a new tank bag with strong magnets and a srap to hold things down

IMG_5090.jpg

Also you can see in the pic because he lost his gps I gave him a Canadian gps, which he is proudly holding in his hand.

I hate to see a man ride hungry so We also fed him again, this time a good Canadian dish. Burgers and poutine ( or poop-ten as he might find out later )

IMG_5092.jpg

and a couple of pics of Wrestler getting ready for the next leg of his trip. Strap you're up, Seb you are on deck. VFRD support team in action!

IMG_5093.jpg

Sorry we did not get a chance to tour Ottawa that much and get some good pics so these will have to do.

The "Eh? Team" - now that needs to be on a T-shirt, superimposed on a big Maple Leaf. :goofy:

I used to live in Detroit-played a lot of hockey (and drank a lot of beer) in and around Ontario.

Fantastic! The "Eh Team" deserves an as yet undetermined VFRD award. What shall we call it? The Gold Star? Bleeding Sisters of the Viffer Mercy Fields? Can't quite quantify, but you guys are the best! I know Wrestler thanks you prodigiously. Perhaps HS can come up with some sort of new award here for assistance above and beyond the call of duty for VFRD members on the road? You guys rock!!
