my first thought was "must be down under"...no way we would feature a rider doing stunts on wrong side of the road....
  2. when was this taken? leaves are looking good.
  3. sorry, mine were on bike when i got it.
  4. 6'2" here with silver 2003. have BLS blocks, heli bars and sargent seat. ALL are excellent choices and make the bike very comfortable for me. a smaller individual got on and said "wow...sort of like a couch" :)
  5. Thank you for your answer. I'm a little hesitant to use so stiff a rear shock, since roads around here are often quite rough. I guess I'll stick to 0.95 front and 19.3 rear, and maybe play with a rider-sag a bit more than 3.5 (if I can't get a decent static-sag). Does this sound reasonable? Also: Other than from RaceTech, do you know where I could find fork-springs at this rate? Do you know if Ohlins or WP have such fork-springs (suitable for the VFR)? I'm trying to locate a supplier that has good representation somewhere in the EU (or even-better locally, I live in Athens / Greece). comp/rebound will impact things more than anything with your bumps. the rate is necessary for your weight and to get proper sag geometry for handling. do what you will, but my suggestion is at least the 20kg spring.

    wow....what a awesome photo!
  7. been on that bridge many times. nice photo!
  8. i have it. it is exactly what you think it is....cheap, with crappy mounts. mine is still in the box. i would sell it to you cheap. it will work and if you cant afford new and are willing to move mounts, redrill, etc, it would be fine. i expected something close to the honda stuff and it is NOT that. again, not saying it wont work or doesnt look cool. just not what i wanted. Which specific kit do you have? i have the white black livery

I am amazed at how good it looks. VERY nice job!
  14. you take the meter and wire it pos/neg to the battery. you need a relay in the positive line and control the relay off of a switchable supply....what these means is tie it to the rear taillight as example as it is only on when the bike is on. you need the relay to cut the meter off when your bike is not running. search the forum as there are several threads on "how to" do this.

The question of the day is.....how many track junky's egos did you crush by passing them with full bags? :fing02:

VERY NICE! I have a silver 2003 and just bought a black/white schemed plastics kit. i think yours looks even better!
  17. saw your post. does that mean just saturday or do you want to stay Sunday too? sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure and sign up for the correct number of days.

  18. Hey John. Just checking on the Tally weekend at the end of May. Are you already registered? Are you planning Sat/Sun or just Sat. That Monday is Memorial Day. At the present, I am supposed to get my girls for the week as they are out of school and I would pick them up on Sunday at 6pm. If you want to stay for Sunday, I need to insure that I can pick them up Monday morning. Let me know.

  19. i like your scheme....never thought about looking at the various squandron paint jobs for inspiration...it only makes sense
  20. You can't ask for anything more! I look forward to seeing what he does & says. I would also like to know the number on your spring. PS don't forget, when check sag you should basically have rebound/comp settings on zero(full soft) so that your only measuring Spring and not any effect of damping. BTW I don't think there is, but is there any ratio difference between the 5th & 6th gen? You don't have your bike lowered or have flipped the triangle plates have you? There is another member TC who says he has great numbers with an F4i shock & 900lb spring. BR FYI...not so sure about the 900 lber....after riding the ohlin on the track bike, and getting my front revalved on the VFR, i am starting to see the difference...i have no free sag and the ride is harsh, so i believe it isn't set up just right. yes, much better then stock for sure, but i am almost convince of the need for the 1200 lb spring as i weigh in at 230. i hope to find the time to try it before spring gets here
  21. It was random in the sense that it did not follow the previous posts, but the original post was about both the shocks and the catless header. I missed it way back when, but it does talk about using Cozye's map and just wanted to throw that out there because running lean can potentially cause damage. Just sayin' AH...gotcha...so long ago, i didn't remember....you are right about lean....all i can tell you is 2 years and no problems and lots of fuel smell, so i don't "think" it is an issue, but have not dynoed it to know for sure...
  22. this is a shock thread and that was a random post.....but since you did it....i have run cozye's map for 2 years now....stinks to high heavens because it is VERY rich....no problem running with catless....oh, and she runs like a scalded dog too....i have not tried Jasons, but meant to....having no issues with cozyes, i just never got around to it.
