  1. Hi Everyone Just to share I have Jamie DMr front and rear, and it's brilliant!! I do not have enough words to speak well about it 😃 No more sloppy suspension, as soon as you seat on a VFR for the very 1st time with Jamie DMRs Kit, you immediately notice the diference, and you will fall even more in love with your VFR, builts your corner confidence, rear is now a bit more taller increasing handling, bike is much more stable etc etc etc Again I do not have enough good words, best mod ever, worth every single dollar shipping it to Portugal 😃 Would order tomorrow again 😃

  2. There is a great track called Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas, about an hour from my house. My brother and I caught the bug about a year ago. Missed a couple of days this year, but caught the last track day of the season last weekend. My wife and daughter had gotten me a GoPro for my B-day, which I outfitted for my helmet. This is the last session of the day, so traffic was lighter and I could get some good laptimes. Bike is a 2005 with a PC V and Two Brothers exhaust; otherwise stock. The GoPro split the 20-minute session into three clips and I left the first part off where I left the paddock as much of the time is me just sitting waiting to get on. Had a blast as I always do, and the Veefer holds her own to the many liter bikes in the Novice Group. Looking forward to bumping to Intermediate next year, hopefully!

  3. I'm still interested in the tune for the 6th gen. There was some talk about does one of it being available for sale but I haven't heard anything about it since. Is this still a thing or no? Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk

  5. I have large hands. Not a huge, but not a small person either (6'1"). I reach in, and replace by feel...dont remove anything to get access. Matt

  6. Unplug wires. Remove part 2, remove bulb and replace. Helps to have small hands. But much less work.

  7. Got pulled over today for moving past stationary cars for right hand turn in the bike lane. Got a warning. 4th warning in a row for miscreant deeds committed while on my trusty "99.

  9. I'd be afraid of having "Dancing Queen" stuck in my head while trying to do maintenance.

  10. It probably also depends on how much you're hanging out there... Outside of a terminal illness, I'm always going to be quite a bit above the intended weight range for any motorcycle. For someone my size, I couldn't possibly disagree with you more!

  11. So the 5th gen VFR only has a single pintle injector. The 4 hole is a major improvement over this & the CBR929 injectors are a drop in fit. The 6th gen uses 12 hole injectors, but the research I have done seems to indicate from empirical evidence that the change from 1 to 4 hole is really good but the step from 4 to 12 less so. The later larger hole count injectors seem to be more about reducing emissions than improving performance. If there was a readily available 12 hole that would fit then I would have tried them. There are some rather expensive ones designed to fit Hayabusa's which used the same single hole injectors as the VFR. but $500 seemed a bit steep for an experiment ! Maybe if the 4 hole prove to be a good upgrade then I might entertain those expensive ones but not if they don't at least double the gain from the 4 hole injectors. I just did about 50 miles today & as per the last time I used s zero map on the RBR the bike was very fluffy at the beginning. After the 50 miles of O2 auto fuel correction, the seat of the pants feel is really good. I'll get another 50-100 mes on it then get it dyno'd. Looking at the fuel correction tables, where the stock fuel pressure was adding up to 35% more fuel, the new setup has reduced many cells, so injector delivery is working as intended now. But importantly the cells that matter in the mid range to highend are adding or not removing fuel duty cycle, so more air must be flowing. The bike picks up really well now in any gear from any revs in sny gear, where ss with the lower fuel pressure it always seemed to lag a bit !

  12. So having forgotten to take pics of the Mk2 airbox, I was fitting a new FPR today & remembered to take some. Pics above show Mk1. Below id the Mk2. I used a spare airbox & rounded the intakes to a 6mm radius, which is the minimum recommended intake radius. I then adjusted the dual stacks to suit the new intake height. This is matched to reworked throttle bodies which now taper from 42mm to 36mm. matching the optimum intake taper angle. These are fitted with CBR929 4-hole injectors, which require 51psi at idle or 4bar (58psi) peak. I will put a few miles on the bike to get the fuelling sorted for the new setup, then get it dyno'd & see what we have.

  14. This needed to be reposted as I've just learned that only a few people stepped up and took care of their extra burden. Lance and Darryl have put a huge effort into getting this done and I find it quite insulting that there are people in this community willing to take advantage of these 2 hardworking generous guys. How many other people here would literally spend thousands of dollars of their own money to get some cool stuff for the small group of buyers here? The answer is very few! Does it suck that the price went up? Of course! Is it fair to make these 2 nice guys bite the big one for the sake of a dozen ppl saving $32? Uh no!! Let's get this done folks. It's the right thing to do, and it may just bring that wind back to the sails of additional header production.

  15. After fitting a modified NC30 lower radiator a couple of years ago, with Gen 8 second hand parts become available, I thought I'd do the entire "Front Radiator" thing and ditch the side rads. Basically got hold of an upper and lower radiator off eBay and bought the rest of the hardware, brackets, hoses etc. from Partzilla from the Gen 8 parts list. I had to make the top bracket, up against the head stock and as the fan on the Gen 8 is controlled from the ECU, I had to put a thermo switch in the new top hose. Since completing the job, it has run extremely well with me only seeing a top temp of 98 dec C and this is during our summer in New Zealand. Here are some photos of the finished job. Thermo switch Top rad with guard Had to shorten the bottom bracket by 15mm to fit within the Gen 6 fairing Modded Gen 8 radiator guard on the bottom Fashioned some expanded aluminium sheet to fill the fairing ports where the side rads were. Had to fit a relay to run the fan off the thermo switch as it's current rating was a little low.

  16. With all the talk of the one 5th gen pipe interference with the fairing cover, will it or can it be corrected in the next production batch run?

  18. As others have already said, I like the "new header" enough that I'm willing to live with a little inconvenience. Here are pictures of my work to provide clearance for the header from the #4 cylinder. I imitated sfdownhill's solution to the problem, I used a heat gun to soften up the plastic so it could be re-formed with an outward bend that gives the #4 cylinder's header about the same amount of clearance as the #2 cylinder's header pipe. Installed on the bike you can see that I've managed to achieve the same amount of fairing-to-header pipe clearance on both the #4 and #2 headers. I happened to have some high temperature heat reflecting tape on hand so I added it to the work I did. I figured why not, regardless of whether the situation really needed this amount of protection Maybe I got a little carried away with the heat reflective taping...

  19. Aftermarket VFR750 (90-97) radiator with custom brackets, on a 99 VFR800. Coupled with a larger aftermarket (air) oil cooler. No idea if it'll fit under fairings, of course...
