Member Contributer Cageless-in-Seattle Posted July 7, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted July 7, 2018 I’m going to be late if show up at all. My ride died on me at the rest stop on I-90 between Bozeman and Billings. Waiting for a tow back to Bozeman for service that won’t be open until Monday. So I’ll be staying a few days in Bozeman. This hasn’t been my day to say the least. Kevin.

Time to go I have replaced two stators while on tours. In both cases, is behaved like it had a dead battery. Matter of fact, the first time, I did replace the battery. Hope you get it worked out nd continue on your way.

Good luck with your bike.
Member Contributer Cageless-in-Seattle Posted July 8, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted July 8, 2018 Don’t know if stator has been replaced. If not replaced as park of normal maintenance then not likely. At least it died when I was at a rest stop and not out in the middle of nowhere without cell service to call a tow. Was able to book a hotel for at least 3 nights. I’ve also called the Rocket about my predicament. Will update when I have news. Member Contributer didit Posted July 8, 2018 Author Member Contributer Share Posted July 8, 2018 Stators go, I'm on my 3rd. No way to know or maintenance.
Member Contributer huntinggunns Posted July 8, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted July 8, 2018 Lisa and I will be in Custer tomorrow afternoon. If needed we can pick up anyone having problems, within a reasonable distance. We are trailing in so it will be easy to load up a bike and head in. Sweeper
Could be bad battery - but was replaced this year. Tow Is here. Time to go It’s not a VFR gathering unless someone has electrical issues. We spent the last couple of hours riding twenty minutes and swapping batteries to get mine to the hotel this spring. Turned out to be burned wires between the stator and r/r. Back on the road in about an hour thanks to Todd.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Member Contributer Cageless-in-Seattle Posted July 8, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted July 8, 2018 I sent a PM to Josh / Tightwad this morning to see if he has a stator, regulator and gasket available for a 2007 VFR.
