I took this a few minutes before I got hit by a thunderstorm. Got soaked, but I got some riding in and that's what matters.

Absolutely not, thoroughly checked this out before fitting the IXIL. Travelled thousands of kilometres with no issues.

Perhaps if you are stationary with engine idling for long periods, the heat shield under the pannier might start heating up, but I've not had problems.
