yes but for less money you could have this 800 moto

BMW_F800GS_ADVENTURE_BAGS.JPG

Are you sure the beemer costs less? I'd take the beemer, but, last I checked, it's going for around $15k.

BMW's website says just over 13k...

How much is the Honda? It'd be ridiculous if the Honda cost more than $13k, but I wouldn't be too surprised.

What do you think boys?

Perhaps the ugliest two-wheeled vehicle I have ever had the displeasure of viewing.

But all adv bikes are ugly :goofy:

The bike will (hopefully) look nothing like that. That looks like an incredibly useless large displacement dual sport.

That, is the reason it would be made. For no other reason than just that, it is too fat to be on/off road. It could use some more time at R&D.

I'm not really into dual-sports, but they're quite popular in some parts of the world (France, in particular, for some strange reason). Honda has a tradition of large-displacement enduros, though few of them (if any?) were ever sold in the 'States. Before the VTR1000F-engined Varadero, there was the XLV650/750 Africa Twin and, of course, the venerable Transalp. I must confess a certain admiration for the Africa Twin, but I understand it was always a bit of a pig...

I'm sure that's a photochop...

It is. Here are the two drawings Honda realeased of the bike that will probably replace the varadero.

Yes the drawings are out there....and looks like the photochop incorporated some of that theme. Only a couple of weeks more to find out the real scoop.

V4 Rosso you have been to a couple of those Euro Shows before right??? I seem to remember a report from you a few years back. While we have bike shows here in the US not sure we really have new bike world introductions at our US shows.

After my Alaska tour, I would say small is better than big when it comes to Adv Bikes but of course "It depends".

From a design point of view, my dream adv bike would be light and torquey so it's easy to lift or pick up if I happen to lay it down or get it stuck in gravel or sand. It would also be pretty much crash proof (very little plastic please, and cheap to replace if I damage them), easy to fix and reliable. Easy to pack with sturdy side cases and top box, and road worthy, of course. Seems to me this new one will be waaaaaay too heavy, plastic will be expensive to replace, and the engine will need to rev (highway). In any case, this can always be used as a city bike with highway commuting. Looks first. Just my 2 cents.

I think the Fury had it's world debut at a US show and surely HD will show off it's new colours first at a US bike show, or not?

From what I read dual sports are not very popular in The States, here a dual sport is the best selling bike (BMW 1200 GS). Also cruisers are not as popular here as they are in the US but I don't know if the jap cruisers manufactuurers let their cruisers EICMA The US is a totally different market. I guess the best selling bike in the US is a cruiser, here a HD is always high up on the lop ten list of most sold bikes but it's just one model, all teh others are dual sport and sport bikes.

I've never been to EICMA, would sure like to go check it out sometime. The show I did a write up on here on VFRD was considered quite large by some members here, but it is in fact quit small when looking at the other European shows. Motorbeurs attracts about 100K visitors but EICMA attracts 400K visitors. But EICMA it's not only motorcycles but also bicycles so say half of that visits the motorcycle show. How many vistors does a US show attract on average, maybe that has something to do with it too.

Because ugly is in.... Let us start with a Goldwing and a TW200.

Lets chop the windscreen down and add high mount exaust and intake with 10 inches of travel.

----Someone should photo shop this and start a poll, BTW----

Lets not get too stupid and add third row seating on our "cross ute trans conti" bike thing

What was wrong with duals with 650cc? What happen to "on" and "off" road?

Yea I think the cruiser get their intros at US shows most likely since that is where the market is but I do not follow cruisers much. But I believe the new Duc cruiser is coming out at EICMA too.

I hit the LA California show every couple of years (Long Beach) and just looked up some of the marketing hype they give prospective exhibitors and the show bosses claim the attendance in about 50K.

Not sure where Dual Sports fit in the US market but Advrider.com is a big site and where I get most my info on the breed. Trying to get a bike which can do it all is the challenge and most of the Adv bikes are too fat in my mind.

I really liked the new 1200 Multistrada but I could imagine a lot of painful plastic fixes if you ever did any real exploring on it. I will be sticking with my KLR for a while but if Honda delivers I will take a look but really want to examine the VFR1200TTTTTTT if there is such a critter.

The Diavel? Although there are a few pics allready floating on the net it will have it's first official appearance at EICMA in Milan, after all it's an Italian bike.

Honda has some serious issues. I'm just not picking up what they are putting down lately. Never been very brand loyal though. I am warming up to the adventure touring bikes as a very practicle everyday bike and travel mate. Non of these are off road bikes.

I would put this bike in the H3 category of offroad vehicles...yes it may have the right parts, but it is designed to make a yuppy feel like they COULD go offroad, if only they weren't too busy with their green initiatives and alternative lifestyle picketing.

I'd really be surprised if anyone who bought one of these things really expected to go off-road Dakar style ... but I grant you there's numb-skulls out there who might tho!

But anyway, mates of mine who've owned these Dual Sports things (BMWs, KTMs, Ducs, Hondas, Trumpys) love 'em because of the many crap (and I mean crap) roads that we have in Oz that have now become available to them for touring. I want one so I can go with!

More pictures of the new 800 Triumph. This is the XC or 21 inch front wheel version.

I think both, Honda and triple, bikes are being "introduced" at the Novemeber show.
