SEBSPEED
I am busy catching up on some chores I missed out on while playing all weekend(like cleaning the chimney & the stove, moving some furniture, etc) - but wanted to give some space to those of you that made it home already, so you can post your pics here. Stories too, if you want! :warranty: Gotta go unload the snowblower my Dad just gave me, and get a little roasty goodness going in the ole' woodstove, then, it's picture-postin time... :fing02: K, here we go: Meeting up with ss burns, his buddy Jim(Achmed), PoconoVFR, Peto, and Mr FlatBlack himself - Timmythecop! Peto had been admiring Timmy's german police getup, and just had to show off how well his BMW hot weather gear matched his BMW riding suit: We had a great hangout spot with a fire pit and ping pong table, and plenty of beer to go around. Mmm... Octoberfest... How do you spell that again? lalalalalalalalalalalalalla!!!! Jim had us in stitches with his Achmed impersonations while we had our Flaf signing Jim signs the Flaf while Pat picks his spot carefully... More Flaf shots coming. One for Skuuter - just in case he changes his mind... PoconoVFR got a special prize - but I'll let him share... :pissed:

Guest
Here are a few pics: Early Saturday morning, 34 degrees! At the overlook before heading out for the days festivities! Another view. Every Generation VFR was there. All had a good time. There were a couple of mishaps, but no one was hurt. Parts can be replaced - Stoopid Deer! Thanks for all the organizing work Seb. :pissed: And "Sgt Slaughter" was just some added local color. Hey Timmy, PBR me.
Member Contributer Twox48 Posted October 6, 2008 Member Contributer Share Posted October 6, 2008 Many Thanks Seb! Great job putting this one together. Triple occupancy rooms at $49/night right in the heart of very sweet riding... not to mention a pile of firewood & a gallon of girl scout water to make our own smoke filled pavillion! I wouldn't believe it if I didn't live it! Traffic to Central Mass this am was a bit heavy in spots but we made decent time. I was home in time for my kid's soccer game so I earned back a few brownie points today! Still a few more to aquire before I can take another weekend away but it's a start! Nice meeting you all. Hope everyone made it home safe & to do it again! Tom

Member Contributer PhatPat33 Posted October 6, 2008 Member Contributer Share Posted October 6, 2008 Friday, October 3, 2008: My plan was to go to work, get home around 3:00, finish prepping my VFR and wait for the other guys to show up. The "Patriot Division" of the VFRd Railers was to include, twox48 (Tom), and bliss (Bryan). They met up with me at my house and we left from there together to head to Langes Grove Side Resort. The ride there was pretty uneventful, as we took I-90 across western Massachusetts to exit 2. We traveled through Stockbridge and Great Barrington, MA to RT23 which took us over the New York border. The view from the Rip Van Winkle bridge as the sun was setting was amazing! If I could have stopped to take a picture without getting killed, I would have! We arrived at Langes, checked in and rode around back where a few other people were happy to meet us and welcome us. Some were old friends, but most were new friends. The rooms were "classically" styled and nice and cozy after a chilly ride in the 40's (F). The rates were very affordable for all of the outside gathering amenities that were available. There was also a very nice little brook located behind the rooms. IMG_1193.JPG I watched as bike after bike rolled in and parked for the night creating a nice line of VFR's (and a couple others) in front of the room. The highlight of the night was when a camouflaged Army Sargent showed up with a gallon of gasoline in his hand and said, "How you doin? I'm the owner of this place and just got back from training. I've got some wood and gasoline to help you guys start a fire.""Sarge" was quite a character and was telling us how he just took over the hotel. IMG_1186.JPG I could tell that this was going to be one heck of a weekend when the hotel owner is giving you gasoline and fire! The rest of the night was all about meeting each other, kicking tires and tossing back a few wobbly pops. Timmy's Sasquatch encounter was another highlight. I swear... I don't think I've laughed and smiled that long in a while. You guys had me nearly drooling I was laughing so much at times at some of the stories. IMG_1187.JPG IMG_1188.JPG IMG_1189.JPG FLAF signing (many first timers!!!) Don't forget to update your signature!!! IMG_1190.JPG IMG_1191.JPG IMG_1192.JPG Everyone retired at around midnight looking forward to what the rest of the weekend would bring. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4,2008: I WILL UPDATE THE REPORT LATER, BUT HERE ARE SOME OF MY PICTURES IMG_1194.JPG IMG_1195.JPG IMG_1196.JPG IMG_1197.JPG IMG_1198.JPG IMG_1199.JPG IMG_1200.JPG IMG_1201.JPG IMG_1203.JPG IMG_1204.JPG IMG_1205.JPG IMG_1206.JPG IMG_1207.JPG IMG_1208.JPG IMG_1209.JPG IMG_1210.JPG IMG_1211.JPG IMG_1212.JPG IMG_1213.JPG IMG_1214.JPG IMG_1215.JPG IMG_1217.JPG IMG_1219.JPG IMG_1220.JPG IMG_1221.JPG IMG_1222.JPG IMG_1224.JPG IMG_1225.JPG IMG_1227a.jpg IMG_1228.JPG IMG_1229.JPG IMG_1230.JPG IMG_1231.JPG IMG_1232.JPG IMG_1233.JPG SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2008: The Patriot Divison of Railers gets ready to depart and head for home. I would've loved to be able to go riding with everyone, but duty and family was calling back home. MANY, MANY THANKS TO SEB, THE GROUP LEADERS, GROUP SWEEPERS AND EVERYONE THERE FOR THE LIFETIME OF MEMORIES AND GOOD TIMES. CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN (minus the incidences)!!!
