Anyone know if the original TBR header is marked to identify it as a TBR system? If it was a full TBR system the seller would have bragged about it. The TBR header will discharge from a slightly different location so the mid-pipe needs to be different... it wouldn't be a standard slip-on that fits the OEM discharge location. Never mind, the newer delkivics are using springs now too. Parkes Posted October 13, 2017 Share Posted October 13, 2017 I built that exhaust up a few years ago now. I race a vfr800 in the UK. It is running an long stroke 360 crank now and a different exhaust to suit. I might sell that one in the picture if someone is interested. I can make another one out of 0.9mm stainless or 1mm titanium though. The ideal sizes I have calculated are available in stainless but there is a compromise in titanium which is not good. That VFR exhaust was on tuned engine and I designed it to suit the cams which takes the revs to 14K so it may not suit a road bike. The VFR engine made a good 142hp with that exhaust but as I mentioned, it may well turn a road bike very sluggish Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There is a good amount of interest to buy in say the $600-800 range, and some interest to sell in the $2000+ custom one-off range (if you can even find someone willing). If you want to gauge interest, you need only to look at the first page of this thread and this post from April in the other VFR header thread:http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/topic/85354-5th-6th-vfr-800-header-build/&do=findComment&comment=1060365 The specifics required by the group have mostly been worked out, if you read the rest that thread. Up until now, there aren't many that have built the full system from scratch, so you are ahead of the game in that regard. As most know, I'm on the path to replicating the Two bro that was available back in like around 2000 now that I know what it really does. I've done all the tune and what not with my 5th gen, it's a pretty good up grade. Like you, there are trade offs, luckily not much from making the VFR not road worthy. I'd say header interest wise there's a 4-1 ratio that want em for their 6th gen vs. 5th , makes sense since there's more of those running around, That has me looking for that loaner 6th gen and run it on the dyno for a know the facts, only thing getting in the way is the shop is moving, and it's looking to be a $1000+ ea. if, But hey, it's all good. I am looking to focus on the specialist smaller quantity items. The exhausts take weeks to make by hand so they do not lend well to mass manufacture. Also I am not too keen on making simple 4-1 systems just to make some money. I like to focus on the more artistic systems. The website will be mainly focused on the bike itself and tracking the project working towards riding at the TT. I have been racing it on smaller road races in Ireland and the isle of man to iron out the problems (which there are many) It is my own chassis, double wishbone front end. All bodywork, tank, electrics, throttle bodies all made by me. It's making 152hp now with peak power at 13,800 but still a long way to go before being competitive against new machinery.
