  1. Those RWBs are fabulously beautiful. The Suk Suz not so much. To each his/her own.
  2. Especially the DC part, I'm guessing. That would translate to "tough cookie" I'd bet.
  3. I have figured out that I should never stop learning. At least until I become infallible which is about to happen any minute now.
  4. Hey Timmy! You got out alive! Congratulations. Do think it will change results when you get a traffic LEO interview on the road? Does the consideration extend beyond "active duty"? First you quit smoking. Then you quit copping. Then you miss T-Mac. You'll probably grow your hair long and I will not recognize you the next time (I hope) we meet. You will be sorely missed down in Franklin. By me at least. Who's going to be CornerCarver's foil at the banquet?
  5. Are you a Givi fan? http://www.giviusa.com/my-motorcycle/yamaha/fz-9-17 Has FZ-9 2017-2018 windscreen and hand protectors.
  6. I use a Gerbing jacketliner and gloves with a remote control (the dials/buttons on the controller are located in an interior pocket in the jacket making it necessary to open suit and jacketliner. Remote makes it possible to carry a remote dual-controller, jacket and gloves seperately, in an outer pocket or tank bag). The jacket can get too hot in 30 F temps if not turned down. I love them; they extend my riding season by weeks, at both ends of winter, depending on snow and ice. My Aerostich Transit Suit is Gortex-bonded leather so it's totally waterproof. For heavy rain or long term wetness I wear Aerostich Triple Digit Rain covers. Nothing keeps hands dry better.
  7. Looking forward to seeing you in Custer Doc.
  8. The count was Cylinders. Gas powered Radio Controlled toys count. I've not heard of multi-cylinder RC engines but it sounds like a great idea. I'd love to have a 4 cylinder RC motorcycle, say 1/12th or 1/26 scale machine. On that radio call-in program a high number of cylinders was to be associated with increased manhood and virility. And I appreciate JeffyJeff's point of view. It gives me additional backing for continued procrastination.
  9. I could only wish, but a boat like that is too big for Minneapolis (City Of Lakes) Minnesota (Land of 10,000 Lakes) (although we have well over 10,000. I do like the idea though. I also want to thank Dutchy for his continued support and encouragement.
  10. I was not a TV watcher. Who aro those riders and who's bikes are they. Is this a Halloween costume? Clueless
  11. I found an OEM decals for VFRs website. http://www.honda-decals.com/default.tpl?cart=1522104982146416614&startat=1&max=20&--woSECTIONSdatarq=180&--SECTIONSword=ww1& I've ordered and received some but not applied yet. (Of course.)
  12. Hey C80s Happy Bday To You. You do indeed have an impressive quiver of machines.
  13. Thanks for the grin.
  14. +1 on what Grum said. And VifferJ. Hard to say any better. Pictures like that of Scotland make me think of Snitter and Rolf. Ever catch a glimpse of them?
  15. We have a local track riding outfit called Zars. They teach at our local Dakota County Technical College (DCTC). As well as track time, they provide an Advanced Rider Course. I've taken one of these classes at the beginning of each of the last three years. Not only are they fun, I've learned a ton and made some of these techniques subconscious, where they become "automatic". And they allow me to fine tune, with guidance and evaluation, my every-day technique. Soon I hope to do a whole track day at Road America in Wisconsin. That track is fabulously beautiful to be on. The Spectators Tour Of The Track (45 mph max) during the racers lunch time, goes over the hill and through the woods. And the best lessons I've learned was with the VFRD "practice class" CornerCarver gave at a recent T-Mac in Franklin NC followed by a ride over the hills and through the woods in the area. MAN! What a blast. Thank you CC. And you, Bent, my first teacher, along with Ezilla, in over the hills, around the corners, in the rain, and through the woods riding. I'll never forget that second day.
  16. I'll try harder to get working on it but I'm a world-class procrastinater. I've only had it for four years. In my youth building models, military, auto (esp), aircraft, etc. was my main thing. Age 8 to 16.I won a couple trophies for scratch-built hot rod and paint in a Minneapolis Summer Aquatenial model contest. But for the last 50 years no-so-much! But I will post pics when I'm done, for sure.
  17. I'm paying attention to this. Best Coast indeed! I had a great time there in 2016 (PNW ride). And I'm looking for somewhere to go after SumSum4. Aaaaah ....... maybe next year.
  18. Yet to be assembled. I hope to convert it to a VFR800fi. And paint it the fastest color: RED
  19. Senior discounts are for chronological age. Peter Pan referres to mental age. I have it on good authority that Peter Pan allows senior discounts. It's is about honoring seniors with free money. Take it.

  22. Yes! Spring 2018 first ride.
  23. Well... it might be too gruesome for a family site like this. For example, while cutting wood for a lawn mowing customer (while in high school) with a double-bladed axe when, after the backstroke, coming forward I hooked a plastic clothes line. The rebound of the axe head nailed my right in the center of the top of my head. The plastic line took absorbed much energy. Luckly the blade was extra dull. Not even a headache. While using a would chipper in 2001 in my back yard something was ejected that hit me in the teeth, even though my head was way outside of the hopper chute. Knocked out two teeth and seriously broke another eight. But my first broken bone was not until I was 50+ yrs. old. While snow skiing. But Deer Slaying was my best effort in that regard. My family has developed an acronym for me: GTBA. Glad To Be Alive (and walking around). It seems I've had little regard for my body for much of my youth. Now it is paying me back big time with aches, pains and arthritis. Payback is a son-of-a-gun. Now let's get back on-subject.
  24. Twelve of those 20 cylinders are VFR cylinders. Eight of them have not seen a spark in years. A four cylinder 1999 Civic, a lawn mower and a chain saw (seldom needed). I've since got rid of a snow blower and a defunct lawn mower. The Civic gets about 2000 mi/yr of use. So I feel I do my part to limit my carbon foot print. I've put state of the art furnace and water heater, insulated my attic and side walls, in the process of having new stucco siding done. And I'm a gas-milage freak. So Gore may give me an evil eye, but I feel I'm quite a bit below the average American's carbon footprint. I do try. P.S. I cannot wait to burn some carbon with you this summer.
