Member Contributer Dutchy Posted December 21, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted December 21, 2019 Heatsink paste is best applied in a very very thin layer. Well, it was back in the early 80's when I built PC's

simo5555
Im just about to swap out my RR (on 6gen) for the mosfet one. Heres what it looks like with my own home-made harness. Still missing the fuse block.

Wemoto in the UK is a very reputable outfit, but they're not a VFR charging system specialist. After years of trying other things (Electrex, etc.) I've gone back to OEM-spec Shindengen, only, on my bikes. Ordinarily, heat transfer paste and cooling fans were only "useful" on the original OEM reg/recs without cooling fins. We're talking 20 years ago! Modern MOSFET and series reg/recs are almost bullet-proof and do not require either heat transfer to the frame or extra air cooling from an external fan. Ciao, JZH

Ciao, JZH After doing a Roadstercycle SH847 Kit on my VFR, I did the same on my SV650S. Both sit at a reliable 14.5V and would never trust anything else.
