Since she is already apart getting my silver body pieces painted black I decided to do a couple other things.

Pair mod was 1st, then the evap system. After that I decided to insulate the bottom of the airbox to help keep intake temps down a hair. I then removed this white plastic bottles in the airbox. After about an hour of trying to figure out what they are for I deemed them useless. put on my triboseat cover, layed out some clear bra for fitting, and ordered some decals.

the triboseat cover took some adjusting to get to fit without wringles and such. it was cheap at $25 so if it doesnt work well i wont be too butt hurt about it. Will let you all know how well it works this weekend at deals gap with the wife.

it was rainy yesterday and today so i took the fairing off to check a few things...cleaned underneath tank and air box area and under seat, cleaned and oiled K&N air filter...had to re tuck the heat shield above the rear cylinder head back in place....i've been getting a lot of heat build up under the seat this summer...put a few more venting holes into the Ohlins adjuster bracket i really think that it was blocking a lot of venting space....summer is not nearly as hot as last year and i'm having serious issues with the heat ...only change was the Ohlins this winter

Mandavdle

Its a 98 R1 GYTR carbon can that I cut down and fabbed a midpipe for it. The stock pipe was 11 lbs. The new one is around 2.

Jonmark

I don't have any pics as I am ashamed of my welding skills but I basically cut open the cat, gutted it, and welded it back together. The catalyst was about a 1lb. It feels like I lost a little low end but good lord it rushes up top.

Mind you it has not been tuned yet.

New buns...

Of course it started raining cats and dogs right after I had them installed and didn't stop throughout the weekend, only to stop on Monday morning so I couldn't ride in my favorite backroads. Arrrgh!!!

Wife and I went for a nice ride today...Stopped at Zorba's, a local Greek bar and grill for lunch and then headed out to Dreher Island State Park on beautiful Lake Murray. South Carolina has some great twisty country roads that are usually in good condition due to the lack of harsh winters. All in all, a wonderful day!
