Iirc, there was a lot of sturm und drang regarding the additives thought necessary for motorcycle gearboxes & wet clutch. And that the lighter oils are least likely to contain them. As I recall that is when some argued in favour of diesel-rated oil. Personally, I've been using Motul 10/40 semi but you have me thinking it might be time to go light.

Glacier NP's short open season results in lots of traffic so you'll have plenty of time to rubber-neck. But the views are as dramatic as in the Rocky Mountains and you'll want to stop often anyway. The road on the east side was under construction last September on my way through, a minor inconvenience at most. I've only ridden westbound so I'm curious if others have a preference.

That sounds like a great ride. I assume that the wx was good other that the rain into SLC. Some of those roads are very familiar. I know what your mean about the Gazelle-Callahan-Orleans leg - it might be better suited to a supermotard ;-P Here's a taste of the variety on that 100 mile stretch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg5FcD2tnEY&feature=youtu.be

Thanks, fabio. I think the white colour hides a lot of the dirt, but look closely at the wheels. That said, I carry a can of Honda Spray Wax, or similar, and dust it at day's end. The rainbow colour on the windshield is intensified because I had a polarizing filter on my camera. You can see the same effect on lots of clear plastic, like the small rules from your school days.
