Damn nice looking bike. Wonder if Honda remaps the ECM to remove the 1st and 2nd gear lag I read about here.

Our bike LEOs are still using HDs from the 80s. Came out of a Tim's (Coffee Shop and supplier of Canadians greatest addiction) few weeks back and their where two MC officers just getting of their bikes. I asked them when they where moving in to the modern world bikes. The one didn't find me funny and he kept walking. The other LEO laughed and stopped to talk with me. I guess his partner is a HD rider off duty and his bike has been in the shop for a few weeks well the dealer walks the highways looking for the parts that have fallen off, the LEO's actual words. The one that stopped to talk was a fan of the VFR and is hoping they wise up at some point and move to the BMW or ST1300 but he wasn't holding his breathe. Wish I had known about the 1200 model I could have suggested that one to him.

Sorry, but I can't get on with the white, imho it's the worst colour available on the VFR.

But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Anyway, coppers are lucky, nice equipment there!

I see they are all the 6-speeds though, no DCT? Would have thought they'd go for DCT as it could take another task out of your hand. (litteraly)

With the manual it is easier to lay a smoke screen

I've seen Huntington Beach PD on the ST1300 and a few BMW's. At the CHP station near me I see a few HD and BMW bikes come in and out of there but not Honda. I wonder if the Japanese PD still use the VFR, those YouTube videos of them doing those obstacle courses is amazing. I agree, I would think that the DCT would be a better option for Law Enforcement. Maybe only the left handed shooters request them.

Since you brought up the Sex Pistols and we're talking about motorcycles, I'll bet you didn't know Steve Jones is an avid motorcyclist.

They weren't available when the contract was made to purchase them.

Notice that the 1200's are not standard police bikes (no luggage boxes). The police section using them are a special escort group. Unfortunately, the rest of the Met don't use VFR's.

Probably not obvious to our American cousins but the copper in the photo is also armed; unfortunately becoming more and more prevalent these days.

Because police in the UK are not normally armed, unlike in the USA. Only a relatively small number of police in each force (area) are trained and authorised to carry arms and then only when deemed necessary; Royal protection being one of those occasions.

Didn't mean anything by the comment, I only pointed it out because it looked so unusual to me.

saw it right off. Good thing they have the good sense to issue Glocks. My cousin is a recently retired PC from The Surrey Police (constabulary) and he always told me that he would hate to carry a gun. I am not a gun guy, but after carrying one for 22 years, I will say that Glock pistols are tough.
