all hung up drying in the amazing sun weve had over the last few days!

549790_10151440362980274_880775273_23534446_1464648037_n.jpg

they came out really good, got a few runs to wet sand (couldnt see when it was dry looking or wet looking) and give them a polish with my mop and they'll look awesome.

not much bits in the paint either considering i was spraying them outside so overall im really happy with how its looking.

once i have it all in blue i can start planning what design i want to add on the top then it would just need a wet sand, mask up, spray and clear again.

dunno whether to go with yellow or gold wheels tho as i have a really nice gold metalic paint????????

Build threads are always good. Especially when progress is made. You haven't even hit a year yet. You still have some catching up to do before your project can be considered drawn out.

Check any of my threads if you need examples...

BTW, is that Subaru's World Rally Blue you've used there?

First I hope your health is well and getting past that accident. I along with quite a few other have been following your VFR project, very impressive. I will start a project pretty soon and will gladly steal some of your ideas, really like the Suzuki rear seat bracket. What model did that come off? It's weird that I can only see your photos in the reply box on either of my computers. Which mounting tabs had to be modified on your build? Did you use suzuki rear body work?

Thanks

  • 2 weeks later...

thanks alot karhawk!!

the whole backend fairings and subframe is off a k1 style suzuki gsxr :D

ya steal away any ideas lol i take it as a compliment..........

hey guys

got myself a nice set of pirelli diablo rosso 2's, so i now have a 190 on the back again :D but just as i have some nice sticky tires the british weather has kicked in and we have about a week of rain coming!!! :@

got a mini update as well

got sick of looking at all the sellotape holding my rear light in place and as i had taken delivery of my new rear light, i got to work with it!

heres the light i bought, nice an small!

533696_10151457806820274_880775273_23606274_145541816_n.jpg

fit the tails shape nearly perfectly.......

548425_10151457269080274_880775273_23604076_474906104_n.jpg

got the back of the fairing all sanded out, taped up the light, applied some glass fibre filler and held the light into the place till it started to harden

540997_10151470661295274_880775273_23653172_1663040695_n.jpg

524400_10151470659875274_880775273_23653165_1083023086_n.jpg

here it is after the first round of glass fibre filler

559066_10151470656955274_880775273_23653152_881819901_n.jpg

546924_10151470655675274_880775273_23653135_1913130830_n.jpg

for its size its quite bright as well (its a tiny bit off centre but wen the fairings painted it wont be so noticable, and the exhaust is a lil crooked as well)

533948_10151470654570274_880775273_23653122_227735864_n.jpg

485858_10151470653455274_880775273_23653112_1180460863_n.jpg

last off was to make a lil bracket to hold it in place, so i cut a strip of stainless, drilled 2 holes and gave it a 90 degree bend

550137_10151474989015274_880775273_23678040_295709700_n.jpg

to make it mount under the fairing, i glassed in a nut where it needed to go, a really neat way of doing it as well and very strong

540617_10151474989380274_880775273_23678041_1121048481_n.jpg

all thats left now is to add a bit of plastic filler so get the shape perfect and put some around the edges of the light hole, wrap the light in cling film and push it in so theres no gaps around at all

onto prep and finally paint!

im swaying towards gold wheels!

with possible gold leaf logo's??? what do ya reckon?

Do you recall who's thread that was that had that really dark gold or silver color? That's what that color is reminding me of.

Hi i'm sorry to be a pain but on your T595 wheel conversion did you use the triumph bearings or will the T595 spindle fit the vfr bearing, cheers Paul.

Paul, the entire Triumph hub assembly goes into the VFR swingarm - eccentric, axle, the works.

Hey guys! Thanks for the compliments!

I bought the bearing holder, shaft, disc and wheel all from a t595 but any triumph single sided wheel should fit on a t595 shaft, can't remember what bearing holder i used in the end :S

This build Is currently my everyday ride while im building this mental machine/thing
