Veefer800Canuck
Nice job matching the Trumpet 3-spoker to the 3-spoke front wheel. And glad to see the "___MAHA" fender is going away!
v4vfrgixxer750
thanks guys, glad your still following after all these months lol the r1 front wheel and the trumpet wheel made quite a good match in the end, dint want a 3 and a 5 spoker lol was at it again this morning and managed to get some shiny shiny juice layed down ;) heres the results............ all hung up drying in the amazing sun weve had over the last few days! they came out really good, got a few runs to wet sand (couldnt see when it was dry looking or wet looking) and give them a polish with my mop and they'll look awesome. not much bits in the paint either considering i was spraying them outside so overall im really happy with how its looking. once i have it all in blue i can start planning what design i want to add on the top then it would just need a wet sand, mask up, spray and clear again. dunno whether to go with yellow or gold wheels tho as i have a really nice gold metalic paint???????? Member Contributer YoshiHNS Posted March 29, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted March 29, 2012 thanks guys, glad your still following after all these months lol Build threads are always good. Especially when progress is made. You haven't even hit a year yet. You still have some catching up to do before your project can be considered drawn out. Member Contributer karhawk Posted March 31, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted March 31, 2012 First I hope your health is well and getting past that accident. I along with quite a few other have been following your VFR project, very impressive. I will start a project pretty soon and will gladly steal some of your ideas, really like the Suzuki rear seat bracket. What model did that come off? It's weird that I can only see your photos in the reply box on either of my computers. Which mounting tabs had to be modified on your build? Did you use suzuki rear body work? Thanks Chris Oakland, Ca.
v4vfrgixxer750
thanks alot karhawk!! the whole backend fairings and subframe is off a k1 style suzuki gsxr :D ya steal away any ideas lol i take it as a compliment.......... hey guys got myself a nice set of pirelli diablo rosso 2's, so i now have a 190 on the back again :D but just as i have some nice sticky tires the british weather has kicked in and we have about a week of rain coming!!! :@ got a mini update as well got sick of looking at all the sellotape holding my rear light in place and as i had taken delivery of my new rear light, i got to work with it! heres the light i bought, nice an small! fit the tails shape nearly perfectly....... got the back of the fairing all sanded out, taped up the light, applied some glass fibre filler and held the light into the place till it started to harden here it is after the first round of glass fibre filler for its size its quite bright as well (its a tiny bit off centre but wen the fairings painted it wont be so noticable, and the exhaust is a lil crooked as well) last off was to make a lil bracket to hold it in place, so i cut a strip of stainless, drilled 2 holes and gave it a 90 degree bend to make it mount under the fairing, i glassed in a nut where it needed to go, a really neat way of doing it as well and very strong all thats left now is to add a bit of plastic filler so get the shape perfect and put some around the edges of the light hole, wrap the light in cling film and push it in so theres no gaps around at all onto prep and finally paint! im swaying towards gold wheels! with possible gold leaf logo's??? what do ya reckon?
