  1. Yeah a bit lighter, but the main thing is that the dimensions are more precise for a perfect fit. And by nature as an engineer geek foole, I just cant leave well enuff alone, I keep tweeking things.
  2. Hi mello dude, Thank you for your donation of 25.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  3. I'm recopying from the first post.......All below...... Every time this comes up in a post there seems to be great interest so I'll post and Pin this topic for future reference. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FilterXRef.html Motorcycle Oil Filter Cross Reference I use the longer ones no problem once there screwed on, just a little more effort required getting past the rad hoses. I use the WalMart SuperTech ST7317 Made by Champion. Recommended filters. All have superior filtering. About 2.5 inches long. Purolator Pure One PL14612, about $6. Mobil M1-108, about $12. Made by Champion. Bosch 3300, about $6. Made by Champion. About 3.25 inches long. Purolator Pure One PL14610, about $6. Mobil 1 M1-110, about $10. Made by Champion. Bosch 3323, about $6. Made By Champion. WalMart SuperTech ST7317, about $2. Made by Champion.
  4. Because there are better choices than the OEM Honda filter for less money. Check the - calsci site.
  5. - Sounds incredible! Delicious! No corners on this one, but for a chance to get on it and hold it WFO in a straight line, I think I could see God on that!
  6. Hey gang - I'm kinda out of the fender bracket business.. I dont sell enuff to really make any more. If a group of min 5 ask for it, I could take a look.
  7. For the halibut, I still have plenty left.... http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/78878-pair-valve-plates-for-5th-6th-gens/page-2
  8. Nice job John. Another alternative to get the pistons out is to hang the caliper over a bucket with one pad on the outside such that the pistons will move near completely out. I have a spare M/C on a clip on I use and fill with fluid plus spare hose, and then pump the pistons as far as they will go without falling out. From there its just a matter of pulling them out by hand. The bucket of course catches the fluid when you finally get them out.
  9. Adding some photos on the reservoir bracket ...... I am able to get away with this only because of the loop on the hose and the clamp in the middle. It keeps the hose from kinking. Some people on this forum would say thats not good, but so what, I have been running it like this for 10 years. I do change the hose about every 3 years or so. Bracket pre install. Plan on just a bit of finagling to get it all set up. The spacer sits on top of the reservoir. The reservoir has a pin and a hole for mounting... Mounted before bolting down

  12. ^^^^ Bike is look'n sweet SC....
  13. Understand you say you are committed to the stock calipers, but I'll be the butt head contrarian and say - delink it! The process would be acquire F4i lower legs for your forks, and swap that with your lower legs on your 6th gen. Then that gives you the option of --- RC51/F4i/954 calipers and use the matching master cyclinder. Keep the stock wheel and rotor and spacers. And then in the rear get a 14mm M/C - a stock Rc51/SH/F4i will bolt in place with near zero mods. Bridge the 3 pistons in the rears. Shit can the extra plumbing and the proportioner valve. Then go out and enjoy real brakes! Extra bonus, its about a 6 pound drop in unsprung weight.

  15. Leave the reed gaskets in. Some pics as fyi When you first crack it open this is what you see. Unscrew carefully the small screw holding the reed valve. Slip out the reed valves.... Put the plate back Bolt on cover plate.....
  16. Running a PL14610 on the 5th gen, installs just fine.
  17. Really really long metric bolts of the same thread, with the heads cut off, make the best install tools for the stator and cover assembly. Ditto!
  18. Hey - Thanks! http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/78878-pair-valve-plates-for-5th-6th-gens/
