  1. I don't know how to do it either....... I'd hope someone on here can help you.
  2. I'd rethink using a wire brush on the chain, as it can destroy the O-rings, a toothbrush soft may be an option.
  3. I have seen the newest MI movie and loved it, like all of them..... I can also except that they are knowingly allowing for scenes that they know are going to be questioned as to real or not, and I saw plenty of things that didn't really happen, but still loved it. Tom Cruise..... Does a lot or most of his own stunts(at 50+ no less), and they try to make as much of it as real as they can. I saw a shot with him hanging on to the C-? , and they still had the cable attached(which is taken out in the movie). Now whether or not he was hanging from a real plane taking off, they didn't say, but the cable tells us the whole thing wasn't done by green effects.
  4. I agree with using both brakes as if they weren't linked......... I want to add something else I've learned, and that is when practicing for quick stops, start pulling in the "Clutch" at the same time. When a panic stop comes up I had a tendency not to let off the throttle(back in the 60's), and found out that trying to brake while still having the throttle on doesn't help with getting it wooo'd down very quick. I keep my foot brake adjusted so my toe will hover over the brake at all times(about a 1/2 inch) and not be uncomfortable, and ride with one or two fingers on the front brake at all times as well. If you do this fine, but there may be peeps that read this, that need this info.
  5. Dutchy: Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
  6. Thx to everyone for their good words, and interest. At this time I have an interested buyer that was willing to put a deposit on my MC. So if this goes though it is taken...... If not I'll re-post.
  7. Yes, I've just gotten to the point that I'm not having the fun of riding any more, Same old roads, and the deer bug the crap out of me.
  8. It's just been listed in the classifieds and I did a type-O which says $2.00, so don't go by that. Have notified mods. In the mean time.......
  9. 70 and still riding, but I can understand why different people can lose the joy, and in so doing, can't get the drive to go for a ride. My excitement door was closed after two contacts with deer, it's not as much about hurt/damage, as it is the realization of 1st hand experience how quick these deer can get in front of me. I still go riding, but I don't have the joy to just breeze down the road, it's a constant search for those pesty things, which watching for people is more about intersections, where deer come out of no where with vegetation no more than 5 to 10 feet from the road, so if I drop the speed to a safe crawl, I've lost the joy. There's different reasons for different people, work, time, family, obligations, draw the innocence of the ride, "Have no fear". I've mentioned deer before, right after my 2nd deer strike, I've ridden all but 2 of the 48 continental States. WV. has the worst strike record, my State(VA.) comes in 2nd(I think) with 1 strike for every 112± vehicles. If that number was the odds for the Lottery I'd be buying tickets. In general, keeping a mc for riding out of the routine day trips, like going to a State with the odds dropping, which is done two ways, the state has very little deer, or the space I'm riding in has wide open margins of space between the road and the brush. Well wish's to you Speed, what ever you decide to do.
  10. Wish I could remember all the details when I had to adjust mine, but it goes a little beyond turning things, there are some mods that you can do, all you need is to think about how far you can go, then start thinking about what needs "changing" to go all the way(but the wife needs to take the distraction away to think). I remember I had to take apart all the stuff that gets in the way so I could work on it.
  11. Sometimes when a person thinks their brake light doesn't come on, it may be on "ALL" the time and needs to be checked for that.

    Road Rage

I'm retired now, but had the same type issue when I was driving for a top delivery company, with the name all over the truck..... I didn't get any call ins, but heard of a lot of peeps I worked with that did....... If they know how to get to your boss, best we not draw their attention....... They lie as well.

    Road Rage

As mk2davis put it, is where I stand, I'm always saying something to every person that f-cks up, but that's in my head, not out off my mouth. It helps me to try and find a developing issue to avoid. I think that a lot of ppl get bullied, if you will, when they are not driving, and use their 4000+lb. vehicle to get pay back for what they had to endure when not driving. Then there are mc riders that try this, "Hello" they aren't in 4000 lb. vehicles.......
  14. What he said...... I only have to sign in if I do a system clean....... There's also a "remember me" box that needs to be checked at the time you sign in......
  15. Lot's of good advise, just an fyi......... make sure they have a wrist retention system.... If they come off none of them will help.
