Daytona Bike Week 2010

Recommended Posts

After going to 9 years of bike week in a row, I skipped last year. I happen to be going to Daytona today to eat lunch with my grandmother and noticed as I was driving by that the Honda tent was already set up. For those that come early in the week would know that Honda generally is slow at getting set up, meaning the trucks are not even there until the end of the first weekend. So after lunch I stopped by to see the new VFR because I still haven't seen it in person. Unfortunately they wer still working on minor details before openning it up to the public, but from the distance what did I see?

A line of VFR's, a 1st Gen, a 2nd Gen, a 3rd Gen, a 4th Gen, a 5th Gen, a 6th Gen and a 7th Gen all lined up side by side, including all of the RC line, an RC30, 51, etc. They also have the 7th Gen touring edition sitting out back getting cleaned. I wasn't close enough for my phone to get a pic but this has given me a reason to go back before the end if Bike Week to get a close-up o then all together.

PS: All of the venders were already there and set up except Suzuki which I saw no signs of. Maybe they just haven't made it yet. Everyone minus Honda (and Suzuki of course) already had test rides going. Just thought j would report my sighting!

Daytona, did you say? I just might have to wander down the highway to see this Honda tent stuff. :fing02:

And a couple of mint RCs might be kinda cool to see, too!

I'm guessing BaileyRock won't be making the trip with me this year.....

Neat pics, thanks Ya Ya...

Turns out I can't make it "down" there on Friday as I had hoped, so I'm gonna ride "up" there Saturday morning, then get the heck outta dodge...

Those are nice...but did you take any pictures of any V2s, such as the RC51?

I guess I could ride down there and see for myself on Friday, maybe. Too damn cold here in Florida lately (45 this morning!), and the parade of HDs that normally roar by my beach shack during BikeWeek has been almost non-existent. And the few that I have seen are actually WEARING HELMETS for warmth!

I saw a number of HDs heading south yesterday on my way home from work and they ALL had helmets on. Safety for the sake of comfort is better than no safety at all, I suppose. It is odd seeing a gaggle of Harley riders ATGATT headed down the highway. :comp13:

Cool pics bro. This is the first year I won't be attending in a long time thanks to a d-e-a-d battery. Yeah something about the 9.6 volts it was reading on the multimeter says it's time for a new one. All the same it's for the best as I am stuck with research papers. My vacation will be in May....... :fing02:

What? Nobody has a wide angle lens to get all those gens in a row in 1 shot? :fing02:

I'm disappointed. sad.gif

A couple of the Touring model. Sorry pic quality not the best, only had my phone.

As a comment to comfort level, I would want to take a trip on it. My 6th Gen is 100X more comfortable than this bike. My leg position is up in CBR territory. Handlebars feel about the same as 6th Gen, but what do they expect the ST1300 crowd to buy? FJR's I guess. I wasn't impressed with the lack of comfort and riding position... I'll stick with my 6th Gen.
