First of all I'm not the first who want to delink a VFR800 there are some thread on this made by eyrwbvfr.

After a lot of research I concluded that the last person who make a solution for the de-linkage of the VFR800 98-01 stop making it so I decided to take over.

This is my attempt to make a re design of honda part 43111-MBG-000 that will be lighter, better looking and 100% in the specs of the original one to get an OEM look. For this project I re-use the existing hose.

This adapter work well with Brembo P2 34 caliper.  Part number 120A44110 and 120A44130 have already been tested with it.
This solution is 800 grams lighter than the original setup.

The part is made of 7075 aluminum and anodized

color of anodized available are bright black or clear bright.

I don't know if there still interest in something like that but here what it look like :

The original hose fit perfectly:

Here original part weigh vs new.

if any one is interested few of them are available for 240$ + shipping.

Nice, interested. Does the Brembo work with the stock rear Master cylinder ?

Yes it does, but once you de-link it, you need to keep only one of the two hoses. Here my setup:oempistonbrake.thumb.jpg.00bfe62cca22c6e3de34c8484e8b85ad.jpg

I think by "work", slo1 is inquiring about "feel".  Technically any master will work with any caliper, but they can be very wooden or mushy if the ratio isn't in the ball park.

When people de-link and re-use the OEM rear caliper, they usually need to change the OEM 1/2" master for a 14mm master from a CBR600F?RR?.  I don't know the piston area of the Brembos, but the piston areas of the OEM masters are below.  All it takes is a calculator...

1/2" 126.7mm2

14mm 153.9mm2

5/8"  197.9mm2

11/16"  239.5mm2

3/4"  285mm2

Ciao,

I went for a ride this morning to get the 'feel' of three different setup of rear brake 'bike'

1 : old plain VFR800 2000 feel mushy

2 : my VFR800 2001 with OEM master cylinder 43510-MBG-006 and Brembo 120A44130 feel wooden, but I get use to it...

3 : my CBR1000rr 2004 with the OEM master cylinder 43510-MEL-006 and Brembo 120A44130 feel just perfect.

It seem that the Master of the CBR1000rr can fit the VFR800, they have a similar design 'bolt pattern' The push rod is different but might be swap, I will investigate if it's possible to mix both master cylinder to make a perfect fit.

Its been a long while since I punched the numbers in the calculator, but it came out for the OEM rear caliper... if you use the 3 pistons, 14 mm was the mc one to use, and only the 2 outer, 1/2 inch was the mc to use.   -- Guessing the 04 CBR is a 14mm... the where used list is crazy long...

@maxRR --- nice job... machined? Almost looks like a casting...  just curious... engineers always want to know.

As expected I was able to get the 'perfect feel' with 07 CBR1000rr master cylinder.

here are the picture of the different internal :

the replacement was strait forward, it use all the same screw as the original.

Just use the Brake rod joint  part 46504-MAL-601 instead of the Tie rod part 46505-MCJ-751 it will bolt right in.

the black one is form the CBR, the grey one is the VFR800 original .

Thanks for adding to the community on some kit like this!
However, $240 and I still need to source my own caliper is a tad rough...
Any known bikes that have takeoff rear calipers that would be a 1:1 for something like this? I would love to justify this solution should I be able to source a caliper on a few dimes, so I can spend the dollar on the bracket you made here.

I bought one of the adapter brackets from eyrwbvfr and it was a nice clean bolt on solution, but since I was about to rebuild my swingarm these came along at the right time and caught me in a moment of weakness. I bought one in black and just put it on the hub yesterday to check fit and it was bang on, very nicely made and located the caliper perfectly. I have a Brembo P32 that I bought from OPP Racing https://www.oppracing.com/product_display/30877-brembo-oe-brake-caliper-p32-left-black-w-07bb2050-20695022/ , but I used the same caliper on my RZ350 from a Ducati Monster that I bought on eBay.

The same caliper was used on the following bikes, and was also used on Aprilia, Guzzi etc.

  • 899/959/1199/1299/V2/V4.
  • 848/1098/1198.
  • 749/999.
  • 748/916/996/998.
  • StreetFighter.
  • Monster 696/796/1100.
  • Monster Pre-2009.
  • Hypermotard.

Just make sure you get one with the fitting and bleeder pointing outwards and not towards the rim.
