5th Gen Super High Resolution Wiring Diagrams
By MadScientist
Ever try tracing a wire on the black and white diagram and lose your place causing you to start over again? Or maybe colors make the miserable job of tracing an electrical fault more fun?
If you hate colors or usefulness, this is not for you. Some files are very large and may require significant amounts of RAM/computing power to view. IDK how much power is not enough, all my rigs are pretty new.
Zip file contains 3 images:
VFR Wiring Layers hires.png - very high resolution, colorized version of the wiring diagram from the 5th gen service manual. The filename lies, there are no layers in this file.
VFR Wiring Layers hires.xcf - very high resolution, colorized.... Same as above, except has the wiring in "layers" so that you can hide parts of colorized wiring overlay that you are not interested in. Can open with GIMP (google it, the software is free for Linux or Windows, but may be difficult for casual users), IDK if Paint.net can handle layers either.
VFR Wiring Layers hires.psd - same as above, photoshop format.
Download the newest version if you want a print-ready file. The printable file doesn't have the layer functionality of the other files, but is tweaked and sized for 11x17 reproduction. If you don't intend to have the file printed, the 1.5 version has all the same functionality of the 1.51 version.

Racetech Gold Valve Rebound instructions FRGV S02
By Terry
These are the generic instructions for installing standard RaceTech Gold Valves for rebound.
Using the online valving tool, the recommended valve stack for a 5th gen VFR with 80kg rider who preferred a soft set up is RH16 (5 x 0.15 x 17mm shims).
I also did the same for a VTR1000F as I use that bike's rebound adjusters (I added 15kg to selected rider weight to offset the lighter bike in the calculation) and this recommended the RH17 shim stack (6 x 0.15 x 17mm shims) and 2 turns out for the rebound adjuster.
Other RaceTech literature that I have suggests that for each 13.6kg or rider weight one would shift to the left or right of the recommended shim stack, so if you weigh 93.6kg, the VFR recommendation would be RH17 also.
Both options recommended 0.92-0.93 kg/mm springs with 15mm of preload.
Fork oil height recommended was different for the VFR (120mm) and VTR (140mm) presumably due to the greater volume of the fork cap mechanism on the VTR which would reduce the available air-gap.

MicroFiche and Parts List, 6th Gen 2002+ VTEC ABS
By BartmanEH
There are several really great and easy to use online microfiche websites. However, when it comes to finding a part and you're unsure of exactly which microfiche its on, it can be somewhat difficult to find. I wanted an offline microfiche and parts list document that was searchable to find what I needed or take with me when I'm working on the VFR.
I couldn't find one anywhere so I thought I'd make one from the printable versions of the online ones. Well, this turned out to be much harder than I anticipated. After countless hours of downloading, saving pages, editing them for readability and compiling them into one document, the result was a nice straightforward searchable document. I thought I'd share my efforts in case others found it useful.
This document is specifically for the 2006 Honda VFR800A Interceptor ABS (note that it's the ABS version - lots of extra brake plumbing!). It even includes the Evap Canister stuff for the California model, even though mine doesn't have this.
The usual disclaimers apply. Before ordering anything and when in doubt, consult the latest online versions - there are superseded part numbers that come out from Honda all the time. Don't be shy, feel free to post questions at VFRD - there's a lot of helpful members here.
Enjoy!
