Nice pics, love the GG, where's this?
  4. More info: Not sure what the stock spring diameter is, you'd have to measure that and check the Ohlins charts again. More reading here: http://www.ducati-upnorth.com/tech/suspensionspring.php Is there a listing anywhere of the stock spring rates for the VFR Showa shocks? Specifically the 5th gen? edit: Racetech website to the rescue, they report 15.3 kg/mm (stock).
  5. Dig in to my wallet!! Thanks for the tip Kel, welding sounds like a little better approach than boring out the original stem.
  6. I asked about this but Tom didn't mention the different stem sizes just that they swapped over and I hadn't taken a very close look at it until now.....now I see the R is 30mm dia and the RC is 35mm. Great..
  7. Kel, it looks like you used the 929 lower. Did it fit the frame or did you swap out the steering stems? Looks great, I'm going through a similar RC swap on to my '85 R.

  9. Goodness I can't believe the bashing... That is a cool project Travis, best of luck and keep the updates coming.

    Teaser!

Looking great! I love the white wheels but it seems like they would be so much maintenance. What's that shock from again? Must post more pics!

    Vfr1 :-)

Great work there! Care to expand on the comparison between the R1 and RC front ends? I have the RC on my '99 currently, would appreciate feedback on the differences. Bike looks great, blue color, wheels and all.
  12. No Repsol?!? Never used the stuff but I hear some guy named Nicky likes it.. I've stuck with Valvoline for 20 or so years. I just haven't been convinced synthetic or MC specific oils have enough benefit to justify the additional mortgage on the house to pay for them. The evidence may be there, I just haven't bothered to look for it..

    Deals Gap West?

That's a great section too, then 89 in to Truckee. Also 88, Carson Pass, off of 49. I rode that a couple of weeks ago, then up 49. It's been years since I went over Carson pass, it's now my favorite.
  21. Mine did rub for whatever reason so I removed the inner fairing. There's all kinds of room now, you can reach in and change the turn signal bulbs, unplug your coil wires if you want, carry a lunch, store a cat or small dog...
  22. Cool, I thought you were going to say you got these, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=190141989370 So, who's the winner?
