ausmomo
Hi, Can't make my mind up on which 2nd hand VFR to buy. 1. MY08, non-ABS, 45000km 2. MY10, non-ABS, 70000km #2 is AUD$500 more (before haggling). Is the 25000km going to be MUCH of a difference?
Member Contributer rhoderage Posted July 19, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 19, 2015 '08 lower mileage lower cost for the win. Same bike, buy the one thats cheaper with less miles.
Member Contributer Cogswell Posted July 19, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 19, 2015 Both are less than 25% of the way through their life, so no, not much difference. But yeah - ^^^ buy the cheaper one with fewer km's on it.
Member Contributer auggius Posted July 19, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 19, 2015 Are we comparing bikes of the same gen? Is the '10 a 6th gen down under? Edit: 6th gen not 5th gen. 2010 typically refers to 7th gen, ie VFR1200 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This thread suggests that the 2010 in Australia is the 1200, which is why I asked. http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/77800-owner-of-a-new-2010-honda-vfr1200/
AllWeather
He means 6th gen 800 as we still had new in crate 6th gen around even in 2012 and beyond if you looked hard enough
Member Contributer Skids Posted July 20, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 20, 2015 Paint schemes are probably the only difference between those years. Lower mileage/cheaper and probably more room to haggle too. Pics required once you've done the dirty deed!

Member Contributer HighSideNZ Posted July 22, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 22, 2015 Just to clarify model years in Australia and New Zealand. My Gen 6 has a manufacture date on the ID plate of 10/10. That is October 2010. Honda America stopped importing them in to the US but they were still available in many other parts of the world.
