Sure it’s not original, but it will have constant pull/feel.

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted November 9, 2021 Author Member Contributer Share Posted November 9, 2021 Some of my fellow Gilera enthousiasts are purists (riding some 300km a year). They balked when I added the extra (red) sidecases from a different later model. To carry lead-additive, some tools etc. The OEM carrier rack on the rear fender is quite small and the leather bag would bend when strapped on. So for the week riding in Spain a farkled a base plate. Anticipating "feedback", I told them "look! I can now iron my shirt for the gala dinner!". At the motorcycle/spares fair in Novegro, the "registro storico Gilera" is there each year as well. They can and will give the final word on whether a Gilera is 100% original or not (only 3 minor "infractions"are allowed). Each year we stop by, In the picture above you see (in the red jacket) the president of said club, Mr Massimo Lucchini Gilera. He was visibly taken aback when I showed him my "modified" ralley bike But, when I told him I rode the 1953 machine for 2,000km in a single week, he asked if I could make a ride report for their website. Telling him that the extras are removed since, pleased him a lot 1
