SEBSPEED
Bit of an oxymoron, eh? Rear hub/sprocket holder dipped in carbon fiber hydrographics?

SEBSPEED
If by "autoclave" you mean my workbench, then yes, yes it is.
Beck
I'm sure, if you stare at the pattern on Dutchy's newly re-finished sprocket hub long enough,.......... you will see numerous figures of dancing naked women going around the axle hole....... Not Oxymoron, but Oxysexy!

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted May 22, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted May 22, 2015 don't like the feel.... Yes, hydrographics Prep Paint then dip Wash off excess goey and clearcoat
SEBSPEED
Nice one Leon. It appears the graphic didn't coat the large side wall of the hub? Is that right or does it just look that way?
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted May 22, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted May 22, 2015 No, the film will cover all painted surfaces. I used a high gloss clearcoat, making it look good with the naked eye, but a biatch to photograph.... I'm in the garden, hence the green to the right, wearing a red Canada T-shirt (thanks Olive!) hence the red in the lower part. And then there is the overcast sky.... But in between... Using a flash gives a -somewhat- better picture The challenge/limitation is that as you dip, it is hard to obtain consistent straight lines. SEBSPEED
Overall not bad I'd say. Does it seem like it will be durable?

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted May 24, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted May 24, 2015 One has to be very careful not to ding or scratch as the film is very thin (As you see in the sprocket close-up; the engraving is still visible.). So I taped her up for the 195nm main bolt and lifting the chain over/on Staked it of course Et voila! \\\
