I'm sure, if you stare at the pattern on Dutchy's newly re-finished sprocket hub long enough,.......... you will see numerous figures of dancing naked women going around the axle hole....... :rolleyes:

No, the film will cover all painted surfaces.

 

I used a high gloss clearcoat, making it look good with the naked eye, but a biatch to photograph....

 

 

I'm in the garden, hence the green to the right, wearing a red Canada T-shirt (thanks Olive!) hence the red in the lower part. And then there is the overcast sky....

But in between...

Using a flash gives a -somewhat- better picture

The challenge/limitation is that as you dip, it is hard to obtain consistent straight lines.

One has to be very careful not to ding or scratch as the film is very thin (As you see in the sprocket close-up; the engraving is still visible.).
 
 
 
So I taped her up for the 195nm main bolt and lifting the chain over/on
