This was going to be the original plan, R7 top fairing mated to Cbr 600rr lowers, but got hold of a damaged panigale carbon fairing, which I was planning to repair and sell, but after trying it near the Vfr decided to make that work instead.

Bike has 2004/2005 R1 front end through 98 R1 yokes, two brothers full exhaust, Ducati rear hub and wheel, 954 rear shock and will have a handmade tank....everythings a bit dusty at the moment cause that's what I'm making, hence all the masking tape.

Here are a couple of pics of the bike before the decision to go with the panigale fairing, link pipe is off cbr 600rr, tail unit is a tyga rvf 400 upgrade. Rear ducati eccentric came with a box of others I bought as a job lot, MV Agusta axle and a Vfr 400, which is on the bike in the second lot of pics, the Ducati eccentric fits perfect, think it's either a 1050 or hypermotard one, tight as a nats chuff in the Vfr swinger, tho may need a spacer on the sprocket side.I'm just working on the tank at the moment, girlfriends going nuts over the amount of dust in the shed, but I'm sure I can win her over, she's a biker too and eager to see the difference in Gladys.

Thanks for that and Hi,

here is a picture of the tank in production,I cut the bottom off an old tank and fabricated the top out of fibreglass panels and clay, glassed over that and then lots of filler and sanding, nearly there with it, just polishing it up ready for final fit then moulding.

Here also is a picture of the ducati eccentric in the swingarm, not messed with spacing or offset yet, but not far off as is.

Hi everyone, bit of a ..ssy day here in the UK so not much work done on the bike, here's the fabbed tank in situ it still needs polishing upto a finish and a pic of the two brothers exhaust with the 4 into 1 connector cut off, I'm going for a 4 into 2 into 1 arrangement exiting on the left, just waiting for some bends to arrive so I can start.

Hi Candyred, bike was my 4th gen everyday ride until someone knocked it over in the car park, decided to try something different, built an Rc45 rep about 10 yrs ago in smoking joes colours

So wanted to try something a little different this time, exhaust is taking shape, ditching the 4 into 1 connector in place of longer thinner secondaries, just need to weld stub joints to end of the two brothers header now and make fake oversize engine cover to fill in fairing.20151021_172620.jpg2015-10-21 17.55.22_resized 115695.jpg

Hi everyone been awhile since I was last on here, up and down year a house move and not the best of news regarding a family members health.

Bike is now completely disassembled ready for powder coat, paint etc, stripped off all engine components and in the process of cleaning when I noticed several cracks in the engine casing in the v near cylinder p, has any one else seen these or had experience, don't know whether to carry on with it ( it was obviously running with these and have been there probably as long as I've had the bike) or junk engine and replace.

Hello, Glyds and her soon to be new clothes

I'm confused - I see a Panigale, and nothing else.

OK I now see post #4 - yowser! You and I will get along well... although let me state now that I take a stupid amount of time to get anything done. But your topic has coincided with a rare spurt of activity on my own project, so thanks for the inspiration and keep it coming! and I'll try to do the same.

Thanks for all the replies, was a bit hesitant about posting yet, still lots to do, still unsure whether to use the two brothers full system or something more standard, don't want to loose the torque that makes the Vfr fun to ride, any info/opinions would be appreciated.

Awesome work! I'm subscribing now. Is this a 4th gen? I have a two brothers full system on my 6th gen, it lost some response below 2000 rpms (due to the much larger primary/secondary piping diameter) and gained massive mid range from 7000- red line (again, due to the much larger piping). I also advanced the ignition timing, which gained massive torque in the 2500-7000 range, so I am left with a bike that is a little softer in the idle-2000 range and much much stronger from 2500-redline.

Awesome work!

Do 36mm 3rd gen carbs offer increased performance vs 34mm 4th gen carbs? With that up graded exhaust, I would look into carbs as well.
