Which decal kit should I buy. http://www.ebay.ca/i...=item2eba92329f This one would be the stock decals that I had on my bike before but I want to get the red decals. Which brings me to this one which is more exspensive but in the color I prefer http://www.ebay.ca/i...=item3f124c69d5 . I am on a low budget so what should I do. or maybe you can find me one for cheap somewhere else on the internet.

I bought the blue decal kit and it is on its way from the UK. the total came to $35. It will take 15 days to get here so hopefully my bike will be painted and ready for the decals by then.

For a guy that wasn't sure if he should use bondo in the first post, it seem to be coming along pretty good.

The prep is a lotta work, innit? :lurk:

yes I am going to clear coat it. and yes it is a lot of work preping it. as my friend always says "painting is 99% preparation and 1% painting".

I applied several light coats of spray clear on my tank decals, then I applied sevral light costs of wax, and so far everything is working out ok!

Success! I got my first few coats of paint on and I am pretty happy. there is only one little flaw on the front wheel fairing I'm not happy with but it will be covered by the steering support.

If I may I suggest, mig welding wire works really well for hanging parts. If you string them up and then tie them off to the floor, you can paint them without missing edges, blowing up dust, and without them flopping about.

That's how I paint 90% of my stuff.

I actually do hang my parts with old coat hangers. I just took it down for the pictures. Thanks anyways though.

You sound like you have something against trying the suggestion, can I ask why? I don't make the suggestions because I feel like adding text to your story, I add it because I've got experience that I'm hoping will help others projects easier or better.

So, sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to shove an opinion down your throat - I'm really just trying to help. If you want me to explain my suggestion, ask. If not, I'll just leave you alone and wait for finished product pics. Ok?

I've done a few more coats of white and I'm just about done, then I will do the blue. I was getting the motorbike blues and seeing my bare bike was bringing my spirits down so very gently and with gloves on I put the parts back on the bike to see my progress. FYI The reason the front fender is on top, as I'm sure most of you know, is because you have to take the wheel off to put the fender back on.
