I have hot grips and they are great...very, very, hot...so hot in fact, that on high you will have to remove your hands from the grips periodically, even with gloves.

i have it. it is exactly what you think it is....cheap, with crappy mounts. mine is still in the box. i would sell it to you cheap. it will work and if you cant afford new and are willing to move mounts, redrill, etc, it would be fine. i expected something close to the honda stuff and it is NOT that. again, not saying it wont work or doesnt look cool. just not what i wanted. Which specific kit do you have?

Has anyone actually purchased, or know anyone that actually purchased, one of their VFR 800 kits? If so, what did you think of it?

Where HeliBars left off, my new bars succeed!!
Flightar replied to VFRBenny's topic in Modifications
Convertibars are great and they go as high as you can go on a VFR...without modding the fairing. -
Larry, please spend some of your valuable time thinking of more farkles for us regular VFR folks...Your peg lowering blocks were great (I bought them) but the community needs more cool stuff. Great work on the RC45.

I had Genmar risers and never had them move even though I tried to on a few occasions. Now I have Convertibars and have them at the highest position which is +3 inches over stock...beyond that I have the bars raised an additional 1/4 inch in their clamp and the fork clamps raised up the fork tube another 1/4 inch...thus giving me an additional 1/2 inch over what the bars are supposed to provide. Result, I cannot get the bars or the clamps to move at all. I have tried many times to get the bars to move...they simply won't. I'm certain that even under conditions that far exceed the normal the bars are going to stay where they are. Slightly different item, but I also had a YZF 750 with the Two Brothers adjustable riser bars on it...and even during a crash that ground a large portion of the bar weight off the bars never moved...in fact the bike was perfectly ridable after a lot of duct taping 60% of the body work back together and having to shift with my hand for about 30 miles through the mountains due to a broken shifter. Once at the hotel more permanent repairs were made and the trip continued. A drill borrowed from the maintenance guy at the hotel, a bolt, a lock nut, some locktite and the salvaged rubber from the old shifter fixed the shifting issue. Lots, and lots of duct tape, a slight concussion, a new helmet, some gloves, some mirrors and a few other replacement part found at local bike dealers and the trip was able to continue...BTW total bill for the bike repair was $4,500.00...90% of it was simply body work.

I love my Z6's. I'm on my 3rd set and have gotten no less than 6000 miles per.

Mine had the recall work done this past week. The dealer had the bike for three days and everything seems to be working well since the work was done. They also reconnected my Hot Grips, and my Jastek (both were dealer installed anyway). They also did the brake recall while they had it.

I have them on my YZF 750R and they are good bits. I'll most likely stick with steel on my VFR though.
