I once bought a LHS Remus for redslut...

Turned out it was one for a 3rd gen, and that meant chopping one of the centre stand mounting points.

The muffler was stamped with "not for public roads" or so. 

 

IT WAS 'FFING LOUD!!

Well might be that a circle ends.... might... awaiting informatoin if front sprocket axle is ok on this 1991 Africa Twin 750

if it is this will most likely move to my garage, and the KLE leave as a trade. Offer is I get 40% more for the KLE in trade value compare to what I paid for it! And get a Africa Twin again, even a older RD04 compare to the RD07 I had, and sure not the lovely Tricolor (RWB), but is the second best color (aside the 3 different RWB that was offered) the RD04 had, and the only aside the RWB I could think of to have. But fingers crossed, hope to know more next week.....

With how clean everything is, the previous owners must have had that cover off quite often.  I'm really surprised they weren't better about replacing the c/s sprocket more often and general chain maintenance.

Well some say I change bikes like some trousers 😂 well can be true in a way...

 

I was disappointed the Africa Twin was not good.

But also started to think that after moving closer to twisty tarmac roads I'm not that after riding gravel roads, the KLE500 is also better as more fun on tarmac than gravel, but the seat is narrow, suspension a bit to soft, so a road bike is better, and the loud exhaust bugged me as silencer was not repackable and a orginal exhaust did not exist for reasonable money. I do however like to get a prime ride that is comfortable for my left knee, the one I killed a deer 2012 whit as I did hit one whit left knee. It has started bother a bit...

So I started a search for a bike whit a comfortable seating position whit a top fairing.

Then I asked for offer's if I gave KLE500 in trade. Found a 03 Kawasaki ZR7S that looked promising and offer for my KLE was ok.

The ZR7S had only had 3 owners and 39K kms on odo

Did go and see it but was a disappointment, front tire shoot, dirty like not washed in years and rear wheel had loads of chain muck, corrosion here as there, front brake did feel odd and clutch was heavy to pull even reviews say it's light, carb inlet rubbers had small cracks....even the blue paint was nice, it was a walk away.... Former owner had just not cared for the bike....

 

So nearby that was a shop that had a tidy looking 2001 Suzuki Bandit 600S, and he offered even better for my KLE! The bike was sure nice, 52k kms, just have had a full service including valve clearance check. Orginal aside front indicators, front screen as clutch/brake levels. So whit a money of 400€ in between I pulled the trigger 🙈😊

Here in the states, you can't give those ZX7S bikes away. Just too many better choices available. 

 

That 600 will be just great. Congrats!

My first bike was a red ZR-7S.  It was really too big a bike for my first, adult motorcycle but I managed not to hurt myself on it.  Several months after buying that bike I sold it to a friend and upgraded to a 6th gen VFR.

Looking back, that ZR was actually a pretty good bike, though I think it was kind of known for being a 'parts bin' bike, cobbled together from parts Kawasaki was already making for other machines.  They are rare to see now, and I always smile when I do see one.  🙂

It is funny that you type that. I feel similar to my GS700ES. I still think it is one of the more handsome motorcycles made to this day...but I may be alone! At least we're not off topic...

80's lipstick on a groovy 70's chick.  I think that's a pretty good looking bike too.  Always liked the big GS/GSX1100ES too.

1992 Honda CBR600 F, bike is issued in spring 1993, has had 2 owners before me, second of them has had it for 29 years! It has 41k kms, tires need replacement thro as they are Dunlop D220 from 2004/2006 that has tread like new. Bike is like new, runs great. Did testride it before the buy.

I didn't get the bike home until today through, reason is I had nothing to bring it home as I did go to see it and after that I had a wrist operation, left hand this time, so no bike ride for me in a while, but a friend was kind enough to ride it home for me.

Finally in my garage and wait for me to ride it! Well fresh tires first. The oil you see next to front wheel is from the FJ fork leg, it been moved closer to wall so the CBR fits in. Will take the oil from there as I can, the CBR front tire will be charged before a ride so no worry's.

 

D220 on the cbr?! BLASPHEMY! Lol

i ran those on my GIXXER1100 back in the day. Never on my cbrs 😁

So worked a bit on the Bandit, the screen it came whit was tinted as had some cracks that where glued.

I found a OEM clear (used) on eBay

Much better I think. Also the old screen sure has been thro something as the upper attachment tabs where broken off, so former owner had glued it in place, fortunately whit cheap universal fast glue so nothing broken when taking apart.

So what to do on Christmas evenings morning as all else asleep?

Rebuild clutch as brake master cylinder for the FJ1200.

I had a TourMax kit for the clutch as a AllBalls for the brake. Both kits had all needed but where still slightly different, 

The TourMax kit came whit a new piston aside the seals and other small stuff needed but not whit new screw's for cap.

The AllBalls kit didn't come whit new position (old was ok so no problem) but all other stuff as new screw's for the cap as cupper washers for brake line! That was not included in the clutch kit by TourMax for clutch.

1991 VFR750F, did like it a lot but the engine had a nocking sound on idle like a con rod bearing so did go further

2006 Husky WR250, fun but still have scars from it....had yellow as blue plastic as buoght but changed to more patriotic for me white instead of yellow.

2005 KTM250 rfs as 86 Yamaha IT200S, the later buoght as parts in boxes, later sold as needed money after divorce, bummer as it was nice!

90 CBR1000F, most comfortable seat I ever had on a motorcycle! Did fall in trailer during transport as I moved and frame got a dent, did sell it in parts, still have fork and front brake as some bolts around.

Traded for a 2001 Honda CR125 for son.

-2005 V-Strom 650, did trade the SuperTenere for 2 bikes, the V-STROM was other, the 95 Africa Twin in first post that both had to be sold because of divorce and money need...

I did, 1971 Yamaha DT125 buoght cheap and sold on as one offered a nice money for it!

A new temp sensor came today for the CBR600F2

As the temp meter didn't show readings last summer so tough it's good to change
