Bar risers and lowered pegs

Recommended Posts

How many have or have tried bar risers and/or lowered pegs and what are your thoughts? I have both and feel they help make it a perfect S/T. With the more agressive forward riding position (than most modern ST's) suited for mountain carving, the bar risers and lowered pegs help with comfort getting there. I would of left it alone if I lived in the mountains or didn't have a VTR1000 with stock riding position for day trips.

I've moved pags back on the 400, only because I needed to to match the lower bars.

All other bikes have stock rearsets but higher bars. One VFR has Helibars, the other risers from Belarus. Even my track bikes are stock for both.

I should mention bar risers are oem and bike came with both mods. I have the oem pegs and will soon try stock setup but it felt perfect from the get go with the mods, maybe cuz I'm only 5'6"?

Put my seat back into the lower position to lessen the extreme ergos to the bars, which only aggravates a right hip pointer.

Bar risers definitely in my future.

Even with clip-on adaptors on my Ninja 400 it is less uncomfortable than the viffer.

Yeah, I'm probably in denial of my degenerative discs or probable stenosis. Once the ibuprofin kicks in I'm ok

I had lowered pegs and bar risers on my (now-sold) 2014 VFR and like the egos much better than stock. My bar risers were 3/4 inch I believe, which weren't perfect, but better than stock. My 62 year old back (at the time) didn't like the stock configuration for very long.

Peg Blocks are specially designed using billet 6061 T6 aluminum for
the VFR800 years (5th Gen 98 to 01) and (6th Gen 02 on 09) and (8th

  • 5 months later...

I fitted 24mm Motopumps bar risers to my gen 8 soon after purchase and fabricated my own brackets to lower the pegs by 25mm last year.  They make all the difference to me, especially on the long annual pilgrimage to Phillip Island for the MotoGFP.

Get your act together! WSBK is happening at the Island, in a month. Whoo Hoo. Much less of a faff than the MotoGP.

WSBK is where it is at these days. MotoGP is entertaining, but not nearly as good!

Hi, I didn't see it mentioned in this thread.  Are you guys aware that Hurricane offers a traditional handlebar conversion kit for the RC79?  It gives a claimed 5cm rise over stock.  Available in silver and black versions.

You can copy/paste these links in google translate website function:

Silver:

Black:

Links to purchase from Webike Japan (no need to translate):

There is a video of a YouTube creator in Japan performing the install:

He also has a blog about the install.  Again you can copy past the URL into google translate's website function:

I dunno, motogp Sprint races this year! Worked great for WSBK.

Either series, it's Ducati domination tho...

MotoGP riders want more $ for the sprints or they won't happen.
