  1. I have a similar setup on my two bikes. My VFR has a piwerlet stem 12v socket into which I plug in the sigatette lighter type of a usb charger. On my DR650 I have the adaptor I posted earlier. One thing I do have on both bikes is a relay, which cuts power to all add-ons (phone, GPS, heated grips) once ignition is off. This way I never have to worry about killing my battery. This costs under 10$ and about an hour of your time. I highly recommend it.
  2. Looked like fun times. A bunch of delinquents frim from the May ride I see. Good game.
  3. They are great for all kinds or riding until it gets wet.
  4. I am using this dual usb charger with voltmeter built in https://www.amazon.com/MICTUNING-Adapter-Voltmeter-Socket-Motorcycle/dp/B0761KJSDV
  5. Any circlips removed? I recall there being at least one.
  6. Ah. Overeliance on technology is to blame 😇
  7. Seb, yes. It has been too long.
  8. Some junk grey pipe has been sloshing around my garage for a couple of years. Rather then throwing it out, I hacked a rear single sided stand. Not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works!

    Loaded up and truckin'

Nice pic. The bike looks like a catdog. I'd want to see some detailed pics on how you married up the two bikes 😂
  10. Thanks for the advise. I appreciate it. For now, I am not riding this bike and will just mock everything up. Will definitely send it out for a rebuild along with the R1 forks to match my weight and riding style. I actually modified the stock dog bones to get a 2" raise of the rear in order to counteract the effect of the increased rake, which resulted from the different geometry of the R1 lower and 929 upper tripples. But it is still a bit low for my liking - I like my bikes tall. Just like my women 😁
  11. Thank you for the info. It does appear to be 8900 as ducnut said. It does not have a remote can, which is fine for me. I will put it on as is, which should be an improvement on the stock 93 shock. Added benefit is height adjustment, as I am in the process of raising the rear as far as it will go.
  12. The package has arrived! Time for the reveal. Here, ladies and gents is what you can SOMETIMES get on eBay for $50 delivered: And the recepient
  13. That could be arranged 🤪
  14. Straight buy it now. Perfectly normal.
  15. It was a buy it now. The guy has good feedback and looks like a wrecker from the other stuff he sold. The shock is attached to 3rd gen linkage. On the down side, looks like it’s missing remote reservoir. I just hope that he doesn’t say that he was selling the linkage only. I have a bunch of those to give away myself.
  16. Did I just buy a Penske shock on eBay for $50 delivered??? I AM overdue for a lucky brake. Will find out in a couple of days.
  17. Update on my plug change. During the last T-Mack, I have noticed lack of power while riding 2-up. Actually had trouble passing on uphills with an extra 140lb on the bike. Asked Matt to do a sanity check and he came back saying that he couldn't even pull a wheelie. I must have had no power left at all and haven't noticed it for years due to lack of reference. So, changed plugs and also replaced my K&N with stock air filter. Result - The bike feels like it has a supercharger now. Just an amazing improvement. P.S The improvement is probably attributable more to the filter change then the plugs.
  18. Just changed at 45K miles for the first time. Old plugs looked not much different from the new ones. Will probably not touch them again.
  19. it is an extra bleeding point - not reservoir .
  20. You don't really need a pump for this. I tried using one, but ended up doing it the old way - Pump, hold, release...
  21. 😞 Do what real men do - Trailer!
  22. Use your GPS to read actual speed. Before the GPS, I would just assume that I am actually moving slower than indicated, which gave me license to go faster. With various degrees of success if you ask my license 😜
  23. This is shaping up to be a fun event! Carvers coming?
