    Catskill Ride 2008

Ashokan Reservoir. The water level has been unusually low all year.
  2. You guys are a harsh bunch of lemmings... it's unconventional and unfinished at the moment, but it's not THAT bad...
  3. No worries guys, he just built it in anticipation of getting his hands on a VF... ...right? Hey, at least you can see more of the wheel now! Kudos to you for finally washing your bike - that's the first time, right?
  4. That would be coming down the mountain on Rt.23A, from Haines Falls to Palenville. Just past the Kaaterskill Falls...

    Nice! Great shot! Cover-worthy?
  6. Chopped spare set of pegs and painted satin black: Interceptor 068.jpg Chopped pegs Beauty shot
  7. It was probably Lemon Ice; is the new paint darker? The Lemon Ice has a whiter base and was a popular Mustang color(for the model previous to the latest one).
  8. Looks good! If you ever do this again, try adding a layer of mesh sheetrock tape on the backside of the fix along with the epoxy for a more secure fix.
  9. Trav, do you have the formula for R258 Winning Red somewhere? (2005 only color)
  10. Is that your "I'm guarding the Flaf with my life, if you come near my topbox I'll kill you" pose? :fing02:

Annual Fall Ride in Upstate New York. Come enjoy some great roads and great views!! The last two events have been great, but I always end the day feeling like I haven't shown folks enough. I would like to do a multiple-day event this year, with an earlier "kickstands up" time on Saturday morning. Meet for breakfast and spend the day riding all kinds of roads. Scenic roads, slow roads, fast roads, twisty roads. In the next few weeks I will be seeking out a hotel or motel to base out of, I will update this post with info as I find it. Expect lodging for a double bed cabin to range from $45-70 per night, I will try to get a group rate pending the number of interested people to keep the cost down. I would like to see folks arriving on Friday evening with a possible dinner meet, if enough are coming early I will organize a small route or ice cream run for the evening. Looking to make a 300-350 mile ride on Saturday the 4th. Anyone wanting to do a shorter loop, or to extend their stay for another ride is welcome to join me on Sunday for another round, with a later "kickstands up". I can easily change the length of the loop and waypoints to make meeting and departing simple. Haven't had anyone leave disappointed yet, and this year I have scoped out more great roads! In the last couple years, the early parts of the loops have been somewhat stitched together with small roads, this year I am looking to just keep the better ones, and add some longer roads in. We will cover almost the entire Catskill park! Emphasis on fun and safety, and, of course, lunch! :fing02: Pending the number of attendees and the spread of skill level, I may opt for more than one group again and at that point will be looking for lead & sweep volunteers. We had a couple glitches with that last year, but I know what to change to make sure it all goes very smoothly this year. ************************************************* Some updates: General discussion thread - http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44064 Sign up thread - CONTAINS HOTEL INFO, RATES, ETC! - http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44477 If you would like to help with this event - http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44597 ************************************************** Here's to a good turnout! What a lineup! 12. +1! I love mine! I forced myself to hear them with the baffles in first - I knew that they would never go back in anyway.

Funny, I just noticed the mismatched wheels on Merkel's ride... hmmm...
  14. Lots of good stuff there, makes me wish I had just a little more spending cash. Just a little! ...
  15. Meh this, I dare you! :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: and Seb, I will be needing the '86 wheels, if you please. Man, that thing is sweet! Ah, yes - the fabled prototype... Project Blackbird... did you know there were at least two of these? I can't remember the guy's name who owns this one and a bunch of other vintage racebikes(they call him Mr. Superbike). The second one is on the cover of the December 1982 issue of Cycle World, you can tell by the extra frame spar under the tank/side panel that did not make it to the production bikes. Timmah - the wheels are yours, we'll have to figure out how to keep the '86 rollable temporarily... I'm guessing you already bought extra cans of flat black paint? :fing02:

    Vfr1 :-)

Looks great Roy, all of it! Any chance you could post your details as far as your elevation above sea level where the map was tuned, what the weather was like that day(and maybe the map too)? I am putting my 99 headers on this winter and would like to get my hands on a bunch of maps to play with.

    My Bike

Good stuff man, what did you work out with the swingarm?
  22. Not too worry Frodus, same deal with mine. Fresh post moves the topic to the top of the recent threads, but in the Featured Mods forum it stays stuck in place. Dunno why.
  23. Cool! The bars look wide, do they feel wide? How do they compare to the stock bars, as far as ergonomic measurements go?
