  2. The Tenéré looks great, glad to see it finally running. So again three bikes in garage that you can choose from, but from your other topic I think you want to add two more ;) Where you live, sure. Here most is paved and when it is not you can bet it is off limits for bikes. Still ADV bikes are the best selling bikes here with the GS caliming top spot in the sales charts and the Cross Tourer outselling the Veefelo. Aparently next week Honda launches another ADV bike of some sorts, CBF-X maybe?

  5. Also gunged up grease. With the sprocket carrier and all else removed it is sometimes very hard to remove the axle from the bearing carrier. If the sprocket carrier was pushed sideways, off the axle splines, the chain would have eaten through the chain guard and also would have to significantly increase in length. It is the third time I have seen this happen here on VFRD and would sure like to have some clue as to what is the cause.

  7. Hyper VTEC Btw John, maybe you can answer this one: When browsing the photos of the Honda EPC (10.0) the pics all have the cubic displacement of the vehicle portrayed in the picture name. But when looking at the 5th (or should it be 4th) gen pics there is one called VFR300W. Has there been a small displacement learner VFR made for e.g. the Japanese market that you know of?

  9. Not very likely. You can inspect the pistons without removing them, just remove one brake pad (or wheel+brake disc) and press the brake lever a few times. The pistons wont pop out of the caliper, and you can inspect the area that is unprotected from the elements and where pitting occurs. Make sure when e.g. you remove a brake pad that your brake disc does not get contaminated with grease that is regularly applied on the outside of the caliper pistons. I had had sticky pistons and some looked pitted but after some cleaning they all were restored the as new condition:

  14. Welcome to VFRD. This fuel tank may have it's advantage though, for instance when you run out of fuel. Only having to remove this fuel tank and carrying to the gas station is easier than having to push the bike all the way

  18. Another alternative is a TRW rotor: http://www.trwmoto.com/en/catalogue/product/MST398/#Tab3 Apparently the VFR rear has the same dimensions as a Piaggio front, maybe there is a scooter dealer in your area?
  19. Remove the yellow/red wire from the starter relay. Now connect the battery. Problem still there? Then it is a stuck starter relay, when not it is a stuck starter switch.
  20. My experience is that when you are getting low on fuel the bike looses power followed by a couple of hickups but always plenty of time to switch to reserve. Being off the throttle and in a turn is not the best time to run out of juice
